So who are you pulling out of the top 9 in order to get Roy in? Johnson - Ivan - Squires Newcombe - Boutin - Shields Patterson - Roy - Houde Fullarton - Hébert - Campbell Rotate Games between Henderson,Campbell and Fullarton as a healthy scratch I guess? Yeah, pretty well this. Although I'd like to see Houde or Patterson occasionally swap with Hébert. They're both natural centres and it would be nice if one could step into that position next year. I like Hébert more as a winger as well.

Honestly it'd be interesting (to me at least) if we were to see a few games where the lines were based on our best faceoff guys at center cause based on percentages it'd be. Boutin - 57.5% (397 FOW out of 691 FOA) Ivan - 54.5% (367 FOW out of 673 FOA) Squires - 53.8% (43 FOW out of 80 FOA) Roy - 51.4% (213 FOW out of 414 FOA)

He was there for a few games before Xmas, and the win against Moncton. Johnson-Ivan-Squires is fun to watch when they're on, but they leak goals at the best of times. Split them up and start looking towards what the lineup will look like next. Something like - Newcombe-Squires-Shields Johnson-Ivan-Hébert Patterson-Boutin-Houde Fullerton-Roy-Henderson It doesn't have a flashy first line like Johnson-Ivan-Squires but you get 4 lines that are hard to play against and that builds towards something. Goyens likes to mix and match based on situation and performance tho so I don't know how relevant it is to talk about our lineup in terms of 4 lines really.

Is it just me or does Squires seem more confident out there with Ivan and maybe even Johnson ?

ok SLY that's enough , should be able to make playoffs for joh and leave the cupboards alone he won't be able to help himself in the last couple days..... he will make more trades even if its just draft picks for draft picks lol He just made another trade picking up yet another one of his old draft picks with the Titan lol

Definitely picked up some size there. Don't hate it though, maybe a Jr. A callup or 7th D for a 10th round pick is a pretty low risk move for half a season of depth D Edit: he's an 04. My mistake

At worst he is a HUGE depth dman. Not a point producer but a good stay at home dman with length. He could be good as a 19 next year. However, my problem here is that we have wayyyyy too many dmen now. Theres no room for our young guys waugh and desjardins for next season/any dman they draft this year coming up. Looks like lots more trades at the draft. Someone call the guiness book of records.

Ansems is the 6th Maritime player brought in during this trade deadline, every player (except Schmitt) over 6ft tall.
A very interesting trend is forming.

25 players and picks have been moved thru Sly this period so far hahaha
This is fine. I don't think Ansems will block Waugh and Desjardins. If they develop well they'll pass him.

Ansems wasn’t terrible for Bathurst last year, had shown a bit of potential in some games, but others he mainly just looked out of place or his skating lacked. If he can work on those areas he’s a decent #5/6.
Worth the gamble with a 10th rounder.

Best case scenario he carves out a consistent role on the team for the next 1.5 years, worst case scenario you gave up a 10th round pick.

On the line-up sheet for tonight's game (Jan.4th,2023) Carter Ansems is listed as an Affiliate Player so at least for now he just seems to be an experienced local call-up for the defence.
Which appears to have been a needed move as Tomas Lavoie is listed as injured/sick tonight and Trevor Thurston is serving a 1 game suspension.

Have to add this somewhere but it was hard not to wonder who that Repcik playing for Slovakia was vs the one we seen in the Q. I thought he was one of their better players vs Canada in the QF and was a reason they had a chance to win. I dont think it should shock anyone if Charlottetown has a solid 60 point 2 way player next year.
