Quebec needs depth and experience on the 3rd pairing so that move would make sense.
Quebec also has some young defensemen in Wener and Lachance who need to play and won't be able to with the Remparts after the trade deadline. They might be available in a trade.

LOL..I was being factious, the pick is least of the issues here, Bergeron left for personal reasons and is playing back in quebec, in his backyard so to speak. If he ends up with the Ramparts, that would be great news and hopefully a sign that things are looking up for the young man.

So the Kid got traded to Cape Breton from Gatineau in Quebec and decided to quit hockey....resurfaced in JR A in Quebec.....now may be headed to the Quebec Remparts ? So it was never a I'm not playing Hockey anymore but I am not playing anymore for Cape Breton ? Anybody else want to come up with another theory ? or am I missing something ?

Not sure if it’s that simple though.. who knows the reasons he maybe didn’t want to play in Cape Breton. Could be a personal matter. On the surface it certainly looks that way but it’s hard to say that with certainty.

I remember over the years where we had kids that wanted to just go play JR A , we had a 1st Rounder that at Christmas of his 2nd Season said he lost the love for the game and there was that Big Kid from Northern New Brunswick that said he just wanted to stay home and play High School .

I'm not saying he's someone that the Moose are interested in, but I bet that he hopes a deal is made to allow him to play major Jr in his home town.

It seems that Quebec tried to get him but he isn’t ready to come back to the QMJHL. Things could evolve in the next few weeks.

I think for every veteran that gets moved out this trading period, another one comes in.
I don’t see it happening because of his point production and lack of teams in need of a 20 yo but I think Johnson needs to go. It’s all about him out there and it’s almost like if anyone other than Ivan isn’t on the ice with him, he’s gotta do it all himself.
I do also wanna mention that there’s talk on the French board that Carruthers in RN could be moved and RN might have interest in Langlois. Could be a potential flip flop with picks coming here also. He doesn’t necessarily fit our cycle but if he can find his game he would be a good 20 to have in 2 years.

2 things really caught my attention in that article. One, the overall goal for the 2022-23 season is to make the play-offs...that has become more and more apparent as each and every game goes by. I don't expect that to change in the 2nd half. Looking to add a top 9 forward should have interesting trickle effect on the youth movement. At what point do you consider sending Desruisseaux back to U18? The fact that McClusky is getting ice time over him is very concerning, but he needs to play, he needs to develop. Second, Langlois could be back as a 20. I know that is the canned response, but based on this article it certainly sounds like Langlois is far from demanding a trade, but is open to what is ever best for the team.
She will be an interesting trade period nonetheless.

I think we'll see a high volume of moves again from Sly as he'll look to replace a Langlois with a veteran D he can find for a 2nd/3rd rounder to push for the playoffs. If they find any consistency at all they can get themselves into a 1st round matchup that may not be just a complete embarrassment.

I think if you guys don't move Langlois it could be a big mistake....even if he returns as an OA, get the most value you can now. Only D on the market that really rival him that aren't OA's are Gaudet and Brunet, and all of these contenders besides maybe Gatineau could use another top D.

What I took from it is that they both agreed that they will try to find a trade partner for Langlois but if nothing happens then Langlois is pleased to stay. A few names that come to mind when thinking of top 9 forwards are Newcombe from Chi and Carruthers from RN. Sly seems to have a good relationship with the Chi GM and Newcombe might look to come closer to home. As for Carruthers he might cost a little more than what he’s actually worth right now because of the price they paid for him but a change of scenery could be what’s needed for him. Lane Hinkley is a guy who can fill in that gritty defensemen role that Sly mentioned also. Sly drafted him so he should be familiar with what he brings. He seems to be having a tough time getting into that deep defence Drummondville has.

Rumour on the French board is Langlois to Drummondville.
