Good teams are deep and not just built around 4-5 stars.

Some of the guys I was hoping they would sign for the 1B/DH/OF mix are coming off the board...Bellinger, Bell and Haniger and all at very reasonable dollars, not sure what Bloom is doing...

The big Japanese signings rarely work out
for every Ohtani there's a bunch of guys who just don't pan out at all or are simply marginal players
time will tell i guess how this one works hopefully not like their last big splurge on the international market whose name i can't even remember now..... but i know we wound up paying him big dollars to be a Pawtucket outfielder

Yoshida had better numbers than Seiya Suzuki who signed with the Cubs last year and put up a .770 OPS despite injuries. Yoshida's approach and line to line batting style should work well at Fenway.
