The Thunderbirds sure didn't look like the AHL team some media were making them out to be.

I’ve been reading that kind of post in the past week. The other narrative I keep hearing is that the Q sends older teams because our NHL prospects aren't as good and stay in the league as 19s/20s. No matter how good the Q gets, the idea that it is weaker than the O and W doesn't dissipate. There's always a new excuse.

How many in a row does the Q need to win before Hockey Canada, NHL scouts, and the media stop considering us to be the weaker of the three leagues? If they were WHL players, Dumais, Malatesta, Bolduc and W.Rousseau would have been at the last WJC. Dach, Bankier, and Schaefer flopped spectacularly at both the World Juniors AND Memorial Cup. Ben Gaudreau had an .889 save percentage on a Sarnia team that won 41 games. Can't wait to see who they leave off the team next time around!

Another argument that fails to wash well with me when the Seattle team had Dylan Guenter, Windsor had Shane Wright for last half of season, etc etc and they didn't win. These leagues are getting their guys back for playoff and cup runs and still coming up short. So maybe all the players are equal and the NHL scouts picked them in the wrong order...😆

who cares?
keep winning cups is all that matters
great tourney greta season guess we will never know what kinda run the Charlottetown Islanders could have had if they could have just avoided the mighty Remparts in round one hahaha

The new narrative now is that the Q is heavy at the top but the WHL and OHL average teams are better than the Q’s average. why don't just say Q has 18 teams and the WHL has 22 so all the talent is too spread out in the WHL. Its a better excuse. What about the fact that we have the smallest population to draw from AND the fact that the OHL and WHL have much better American territory than the Q does?

Kinda hurts our chances when we pass on impact players for average ones.

It seems that one poster in particularly has said that like 5 times in the thread. It’s a dumb excuse.

If we buy in that the Q keeps more older players on roster. It would mean the 18 year olds in the Q have a leg up on other leagues. You wouldn't be able to hide that fact from scouts.
So that argument is BS. If I am wrong Etienne Morin is selected top 20 in NHL draft because he is one of the only top D players in draft and has had to do it vs more 19 year olds.

Congratulations to the Remparts on an excellent season and thrilling Memorial Cup victory! Even the former players from the Quebec league on Twitter are calling out how dominant the league is and the bias towards the other leagues. Bryce Swans comment about the shOw..HL was funny. Congrat to sc74 it was fun watching Quebec and actually hope they win instead of then skating Halifax. Question for you….who do you think was Quebec’s toughest challenge? Was it Halifax? Gatineau? Seattle? Can’t say Peterborough because they obviously didn’t care about that game
