Yeah really bad idea. Not sure what they are thinking. If he fails this could really set him back for long time. Seems like they are rushing it due to their complete lack of starting pitching depth ... They do lack depth but Its not really a huge issue at the moment, they have enough days off where they only have a minimal number of games they'd have to have bullpen days. I think its more about understanding whether he is a piece of the puzzle before they hit the trade deadline. Id imagine that they'd love to focus whatever assets they have left on adding a bat rather than another SP.

Well whatever it is that they think was causing him to struggle as badly as he was, they must feel he figured it out. I'm sure he won't be dominant right out of the gate, but even 3-4-5 rotation kind of stuff would be a big help.
Green and Ryu should be back later this month too. Jays could be very well off in pitching. They just need to boost the offense via trade.

Toronto Media is saying that Atkins made the call . I really think it's about the trade deadline looming and not about what's best for Manoah.

Manoah and the Jays vs the Tigers Tonight......any predictions ? I am afraid of it being bad because of the short time he spent away "fixing" things. If they pitch him the rest of the season I think it will be hit and miss every start.

I agree that he should have had more time in the minors to get his confidence up and his technical issues figured out.
We all know what he can bring......it's just a waiting game. He will find it again, but i wouldn’t have called him up so soon.
I fully believe the time clock has been an issue for him. He likes to take his time and think on the mound.....which is more difficult to do now.
Hoping for the best tonight.....it will either be a shit show or a positive outing....
I'll be watching!

It's not against a great offense by any means...but good on Manoah to prove it wasn't a mistake or rushed to bring him up.

Arrggh! Blue Jays no hit vs Detroit. These guys are so frustrating to watch. So inconsistent. Jekyll and Hyde with the hitting. They have to beat these lower teams.

I know nothing regarding the MLB draft.
Zilch.
The Jays selected 17yr old shortstop, Arjun Nimmala.
Any insight on this pick would be greatly appreciated.

He's an interesting selection, given that he could be the first player of indian descent to make the MLB. He's quite outspoken and proud of his culture and talks about playing cricket as a young boy. If he becomes the star hes projected to be theres a side benefit of creating a whole bunch of new fans, given the large indian population in Canada now. From a prospect perspective he was ranked anywhere from 7-11 in most lists, so he could end up a steal at 20. He's also one of the youngest players in the draft, which perhaps is why he fell. I cant imagine him being in the MLB until at least 2027. He's drawn comparisons to Xander Bogaerts. He also trains with Francisco Lindor.

Yes the 2nd born Cuban to win the HR Derby. lol. Not sure how they got that so wrong. He was born in Canada but grew up in the Dominican Republic, I think that is what they said. I wonder if he considers himself a Canadian?

I wonder if he considers himself a Canadian? A Canadian would at least show some interest in some day publicly speaking English no? To me he shows 0 interest in being considered a Canadian.
