Tagging myself in to take over from the Bomber to do what could possibly the last Mooseheads game thread... and the last one I will ever do if this doesn't work.
I've been back for a few weeks now and being very quiet as it worked last year for me when the Avs won the Cup but we have to dig deep.
It's been a great season and I would really like to see it continue- one of the main reasons I have enjoyed this season, minus a couple months of course, is seeing my future son-in-law who moved here from Australia become a hockey fan and a die hard Mooseheads fan as he had only watched on TV when a game was on at a bar growing up.
Do I think the guys can pull it out? Yes I do but I will admit the odds are not in our favor.
The hardest one to win is the 4th and the pressure will be on Quebec to win it at home- the cliche is one shift at a time, one period at a time, one game at a time, keep playing until all the chances are spent; win Friday, put doubt in their minds, pull it out on Sunday and then anything can happen on Monday.
GO MOOSE GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please don't hold it against me if this doesn't work!!!

I’ve been saying all year all the way up to yesterday that most fans here don’t give them enough credit. I said it yesterday before I knew that L’Heureux and Moravec would be out. More so on the L’Heureux side if I knew that when I posted yesterday I might have been more pessimistic than optimistic. Do t get me wrong Moravec has been great all year but L’Heureux bring way more to the table and usually has some sort of impact when ever he on the ice. Biasca probably out just adds to me thinking this is it. All 3 of these guy are big pieces of this team and unfortunately we don’t have players to fill their rolls.
Also I brought this up earlier maybe before the series or after game one but Phillips I think has become a little bit of a liability. This series and I know it’s a dead stat but he’s a minus 5. He’s been on for both game winning goals here and was also on for the game tying goal in game 3. Hrs had a great year and he’s going to be a stud but I think they need to shelter him if they have any shot.
I just think it’s going to be hard to actually win now that 3 guys are out.

We need know who will be healthy Friday. If it's the same lineup they need to play a tighter game where it's 2-1 or 1-0 again.
If guys are back they can open up. And try and get to William Rousseau.
Win game 5 and high likelihood it goes 7. I don't think they are losing 3 at home in a series. Quebec has been in so many of these close games.
3 CHL series are 3 games to 1 right now. Will all of them end in 5? The teams down in each series are too good to go out easily. Would be shocked if they all end Friday. But 2 home teams can clinch. It's really close. They might all go 7.

No Score predicition, just hope they leave it all on the ice; they have to hit Quebec and use their speed they've already won one in Quebec; get the W and get Game 6 at home.
Other guys have to step up now, and they can't play the first period like they did last night.

We have a huge up hill battle to win 3 but it can be done. Some clutch guys out really make it hard to be optimistic, but I still believe in this group. It was said earlier, but other guys are simply going to have to step up if we are going to get this back to Halifax. And It starts with the coaching. I really feel bad for Phillips as he had a great year, just this speed and power at this stage in the season is just too much. How the coaches have not figured this out bewilders me. It cost us 2 crucial games. I know we are without Moravec too, but they must be able to manage Phillips TOI better then this. This team will have to dig deeper then they have all year to pull off another win in the Videotron. They have just got to believe in themselves. I know I do. Lets bring this back to Halifax. GO MOOSE GO!!!

As a first time poster and long time lurker I would have to agree with Herd Fan, we have a massive uphill battle ahead, not impossible but doable. Phillips has had a great rookie season but these last two games have not been kind to him, -3 in game 3 with some blatant errors, not taking his man to the net on one of the goals and the OT winner where he got caught up ice and his man behind him et voila game over. Again on the game winner last night his man left open to bury it home. It's easy to look back after the fact and find flaws in everybody's game but this is something hopefully the coaching staff will address if they want to win this series.

Philips even with the plus minus is doing a great job for a 16 year old, it’s tough for him being paired with Schultz (who has played well) and is more of an offensive D, defence Zone coverage is not his strength!! They have played well considering all the adversity with injuries!!! Russel built a good team the only thing we are missing is that 19/20year old stay at home D. I believe they had hoped Whynott would have been that guy but it hasn’t worked out!! Furlong has stepped into that role and logged big minutes, gets matched up against the other teams top forwards and has proven he can do it!! But he only a 2004 player and all he is missing is the strenghth!! This run by the team is great and like someone mentioned above when you look at next years D with Furlong, Mackinnion, Schutlz and Philips guaranteed to return, this playoff experience will make them that much better, and another year older!! We have 3 top forwards back Cat, Vid and Dumais, Sherbrooke and Quebec loaded with 19 years olds, the ability to add to offences will be there with experienced players!! First let’s have a great game tonight and bring it home for a game Six!! We are in every game just need some bounce to go our way

95.7 City News is saying Moravec is out tonight but L'Heureux and Biasca are a game time decision.

The striking different between the two teams for me is the more physical maturity of Quebec and how few slot chances they give up compared to Halifax. Rousseau(Hal) has not been the same guy as vs Sherbrooke.

Rousseau(Hal) has not been the same guy as vs Sherbrooke. We've all pinpointed Phillips showing signs of fatigue... but maybe Rousseau is starting to feel it a bit too. He's faced a lot of rubber, and the abundance of back-to-backs this playoffs probably isn't helping. (Funny enough, the back-to-backs is something that Patrick Roy complained about in the media before the series started) He's played 162 more minutes than the other Rousseau this playoffs, and was 3rd in minutes played during the regular season (only Lavalle and Darveau played more).

Rousseau may need to steal this game tonight, tired or not. If we could pot one early and take the crowd out of it, it would go along way in prolonging this series. Missing Morovec & Biasca are big losses but we still have lots of capable players to shoulder the load. Getting L'Heureux back will be a big boost to the team, as long as he stays out of the box and doesn't look for payback. If we do squeak this one out it's definitely going to game 7 and all the pressure falls on the remparts..Lets GO

Here is the lineup. Zach is in. The Martin/Phillips duo scares me.

Phillips had a great season for a young D playing all games with good minutes and 13 points as a young 16 year old defender . Peitzche had a great rookie campaign as well with 13 points as a 15-16 year old while playing limited minutes usually less than 5 a game and wasent scratched til 3 playoff games with injuries to the D core . Martin played and is playing fantastic he got caught up In a numbers game on D but should be a regular D next season . The Future looks bright for the moose with a good young core along with Mackinnon and cataford . Hold your heads high young men if this is the end , you have nothing to be ashamed of you gave the fans everything you had and more , it’s not over til it’s over !!!

A lot of jump early! Vidicek out battles Nause to open the scoring and MacPhee with a great chance. Gotta keep the crowd quiet early.
