Personally I wasn't really surprised to see him cut early he just never really stood out from the pack these last three days while other guys made sure to impress. He went off injured in the 1st period of the scrimmage this morning. I’m guessing his camp is done because of injury. Could of swore I saw him on the ice during the 2nd period, either way if it was injury that caused him to be cut that truly is tough luck given that's the 2nd time in 3 training camp for the poor guy.

One player I can't seem to get my head around. Every year, I have high expectations-hopes for him, probably more because of his age and our cycle than he his true ability to crack the roster. Hope he knocks it out of the park in Jr. A this season.

At the scrimmage game tonight and it's my first time seeing some of the returning guys live and I can't get over how tall some of them are, like Tomas Lavoie for example holy shit is he taller live in person than watching online.

Even within the split squad game, Cam Squires is looking like a whole different beast this year. Looks absolutely like the best player on the ice for either team.

He's looked pretty good at times to me but I'm still not sure whether he's done enough to make the team out of camp as some of the rookies/free agents have done a lot more than expected.

If Marcellus Francis doesn't make the team this year I hope a Jr.A team will give him an invite to their camp, he's really impressed me with his speed and skill and I feel like if the guy was 5'11" instead of 5'06" he'd already be in the Q.

Saw the black/white rookie game yesterday morning and Francis really impressed me and I thought he is small but can he skate. He keeps playing like he is and he has to make the squad. Lincoln Waugh impressed me as well. Did Richard play tonight? He took a massive open ice yesterday morning in the second, left and didn’t return.

Yep Ricard played tonight, he was on a line with Burbidge and Squires.

If Francis breaks the team, he is worth the price of admission alone. However with his style of play I'm not sure he is suited to a bottom 6 role as he is really an offensive dynamo, and doesn't seem to really thrive without the Puck on his stick. Where do you slot him on this lineup? He would almost need middle six minutes, along with PP time to really utilize his skill set. Loved watching his energy and offensive skill out there though, reminded me a bit of a lesser Conor Garland.

It is easy to get caught up on the storyline here, but I just can't see Francis playing with the Eagles this season. The Q is much different then what we have seen over the past few days, then add in the grind of a 68 game season. The young man is skilled and can fly, no question. It will be fun to watch his journey this season as is confidence should be at an all time high.

Lots of positives from the game last night, the pace was decent, but it's early and not where it needs to be.
On the back end, Waugh, Desjardins, Carbonneau, will give the staff lots to think about.
Up front, Squires, Campbell, Patteson, Shields all looked like they gained a step. MacDonald was playing at 80% most of the time, he will be a great addition. There will be some tough decisions up front as well. McPhee has come to camp in what looks like great shape and wanting a job as did Alex Christmas. Right now it's early, but I see guys like Henderson, Aucoin, Begin, really needing to pick it up a notch if they want to fight for a roster spot.
Ricard, Stahon, Burbidge all nice additions, where they fit in the line is still to be determined in my opinion.

Thoughts on last nights game..
Squires looked like he grew a couple inches and man was he ever a beast on the ice. He could be poised for a huge year.
Burbidge and Cam MacDonald weren’t really giving it there all it seemed but you could tell they’re both highly skilled players at times last night.
I would say Waugh has the inside track on Desjardins and Carbonneau as of right now but all 3 of them look ready to play in this league.
I thought Shields looked really good. He could have a big year playing next to Squires and MacDonald.
I want to see Francis play a pre season game before I can say he can definitely play in this league. Skill wise, he’s there. But when talking physicality wise and playing under pressure in the corners and neutral zone I think he’d get eaten alive.
Stahon is very fast and is really good on the forecheck. I did question his off puck play a lot the last few intrasquad games.
