Maybe not your Major NCAA Programs but a Division 2 or 3 School may come calling . Obviously Education is important to the Kid . If it was the Big Fish in a Small Pond thing , he would have just stayed in JR B tearing it up for Eskasoni and his Education paid for at CBU .

Question for those who have seen games/camp - has anyone gained an edge on those last forward spots? To me there are 10 locks and the last 3 spots are between:
Begin ('04) Campbell ('05) Aucoin ('05) McPhee ('05) Henderson ('05) Pilling ('07) Foley ('07)
How do you all see it?
EDIT: I forgot Campbell

Personally I would say its Begin, MacPhee, Henderson that has the inside edge on the others. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Aucoin chosen over MacPhee or Henderson.

I agree with McPhee, Begin, and Henderson/Campbell. I think the 07 guys need another year they have been pretty quiet. Griffen impressed me at times. Aucoin needs to do more to stay havent seen much.

I really think this kid will be worth more then a 6th down the road, but considering where he was drafted it's a nice upgrade on picks without ever playing a game in the Q. Good spot, he should get to play in BLB.

I mean, that's not bad. It probably signals he wasn't going to make the team, so, upgrading a 2022 12th round pick to a 6th is a good move in terms of assets.

Wow I had him in the top 7. Improved a lot from last year. Big body.

Win win for both teams really.
Carbonneau gets to head for a team which will definitely be able to utilize him with meaningful minutes, while also being patient with his development. Nice piece for them on their rebuild.
We get a much higher pick back then we spent while our other young Defensemen have a more clear path to minutes within our own team.

I agree it's a good move in term of assets (getting a 6th round pick for a guy drafted in the 12th round), it's just if we were gonna move on from a prospect like Carbonneau I'd of preferred if we had attached a pick or two to him to add a forward here (I know easier said then done I just worry about the Eagles' offensive depth.)

So, is this our D core? Bigger/Lavoie Schmitt/Daigle Shortall/Desjardins Waugh Murphy back to Major Midget or JR A ? I think I’d rather see him in Major Midget, I think he can play and play real well in Jr. A but he’d get all the ice time he could handle in midget. He’d play in all situations and probably get a chance to develop his puck skills more then if he plays in Jr. A. Now his likely calling card is going to focus on his defensive game but if he can gain confidence and develop that part of his game better in midget, I think that’d be more beneficial to him long-term.

My concern is that if he is sent back that when Stallone starts his inevitable wheeling and dealing is that he might be the 1st Player Teams ask for .......Maritime Teams anyway .

I don't think this is a unique problem to the Eagles. A lot of teams are going to suffer from this - we're into 2023-24 now, where the players who's development were most effected by the Covid years should be entering their prime. Forward depth league-wide is not good, if you look around rosters for who could be available, there's really not a whole lot.
