interested to see what Seattle does, they have a ton of room and let Donato, Sprong, Soucy, Geekie, etc. all walk so far after their strong season.

Even with the flat cap, some pretty awful contracts signed again on july 1st...
Killhorn 4 years at 6.25M. At 33 years old and without Point Stamkos Kucherov he'll go back to 35-40 points...buyout in 2 years?
Compher 5 years at 5.1M...Yzerman is spending money like pre cap...before last year his career high was 33 points. Likely buyout in 2 years.
Orlov...a good player, but 7.75M AAV? He is a good #2-3 on a good team but not a stud who will get 50-60 points. The only saving grace is it being only a 2 year deal.
Holl 3 years at 3.4M?/ For a guy who should have been #7 in Toronto?
Some good signings
ROR 4 years at 4.5M, better player and value than Killorn or Compher
Fast 2 years at 2.4, good 3rd liner who does a lot of good things.
Duchene 1 year 3M...good value and prove it year.

I forgot Reaves for 3 years at 36?? Myles Wood 6 years?? Why pay a grinder for 6 years? ROR for 4 years is fine IMO.

Sure it’s only 1 year and he is a threat to put up points offensively…BUT he is also just as likely to give up way more points defensively.

Bertuzzi and Domi ? ..........Nice .....It's obvious that Treliving puts a Higher Importance on Sandpaper and Grit then Doobas did ........Only one Question ....are they still under the Cap ?

Well that's the point. Pay more for short term service. Player will take less on a long contract. They don't get him for 5M maybe 5.5M maybe over 5 years. He has other suitors and the cap needs to work. But players have some control on where they sign too and that's why it's 7.75M. Makes sense for the player.
Deep on blue line. His scoring will go down there and he knows it because they have options. He isn't assured his old playing time. But Carolina is very close to over the top here. Stay, get a cup or two and move on.

Screwing the Mooseheads over and going to the AHL at 19 doesn’t appear to have been the right move for Funky Goal Zadina!!! Arizona and Montreal can relax for the time being as he figures out how to fill their nets!!!
