I don't really care. As long as he didn't lie to his superiors and went about everything honestly, I don't care if he wants to stay in Halifax or go coach Drummondville or Gatineau or wherever.
He doesn't owe anyone aside from Cam and ownership an explanation. His "personal reasons" was he didn't want to coach the Mooseheads and wanted to take another job. I don't understand why anyone takes offense to that.
Halifax will hire a new coach and life goes on.

From what I've heard, the change in owners did a lot to influence this decision.

From what I've heard, the change in owners did a lot to influence this decision. Do you mean on Favreau's part or the Mooseheads. I am guessing the Simon's are looking to Cam for direction on things so I don't see the Simon's themselves deciding not to go with Favreau. I wonder if Favreau had an idea he was going to be let go. What do u think?

What do u think? We don't know but we also don't know what he was offered to stay and for what term was he asking and they were offering. And what in that would be guaranteed. Regardless how hands free ownership wants to be decisions about size of contract and term will always land at an owner in the end. GMs stake their reputation on delivering up offers they can approve. That's how hands off ownership functions. They MAY have wanted Favreau to give them some guarantees that he would stay and maybe he wasn't willing to agree to those conditions. Seems like he was sought after by other teams who called him when he stepped down so can't blame him. Owners probably like certainty and loyalty if they can get it. The part that stands out in all this is how long it took. So one side or the other deferred the discussion until seasons end. It's mid-July now and Halifax has no coach. That was not the team's plan. They probably didn't envision this result. Not going into a season where your team is being counted among the league favourites.

Cam and Sly looked chummy during the medal ceremony at hlinka. I doubt there’s any bad blood there. I get the feeling Sly knew Cam may be moving on from the team in the future. I could see the Simons restructuring after this season
