I only blame the Mooseheads as they ultimately made the switch over to Ticket Master from a system that wasn’t broken I am sure it was a corporate decision to do so it’s disappointing as the old system was fantastic and Glen and staff were a pleasure to deal with we as fans have been spoiled now changes are coming for better or worse . The Mooseheads didn't. The arena they lease did. The tenant has no choice in the matter. Be happy you have any option to buy tickets. The 1200 or so Eagle season ticket holders are getting no ticket rights for the pre-season game in Sydney. These tenants have some clout in the relationship. If they were really against it then it wouldn't happen. They are probably for it. We don't know all the specifics of these types of negotiations and benefits to Scotiabank Centre but Ticketmaster is the top ticket company in this hemisphere. Its an upgrade for them even if we don't like it. Big picture it's better for the business(s). There is probably a benefit to the tenants to be on the TM system. And Scotiabank Center wants happy tenants and ability to attract better events. So they can charge the organizers and leaseholders more.

The ability to transfer tickets and utilize coupon codes is a huge benefit to the tenant for sure. No downside to them as they also benefit from now being on the worlds largest ticket buying app. Once the season starts and seniors show up to the box office with a code and want the ticketmaster deal maybe they start to see some drawbacks lol

You can attend NHL Playoff games for less than that. I paid a lot less when I went to the Leafs/Sens game in Halifax a few years ago. The Crosby jump is real. In what market? Not in Canada. So you'd be paying hotel+airfare and paying for everything in American dollars so losing almost 30%. Not realistic as an option for 99.9% of people. That Leafs/Sens game was in 06....almost 20 years ago now. That was a 2 pack with Bruins/Isles tickets included as well if I remember correctly as Glen Murray was playing. Or was there another since? Compared to 2006, it's a lot. Compared to what that stuff costs now...I don't think it is. I have no intention on paying it. That 2006 experience with the pre-season was enough for me. But none of those prices will even get me inside some arenas in Canada for a regular season game so international travel as the comparison kind of puts it in perspective on why anything around $100-$125 or so is going to be an easy sell. Leafs/Sens game I attended was in 2016, not 2006. I don't remember how much I paid but it wasn't anything crazy for me to drive to Halifax for a neutral Pre-season game. When I said it was cheaper to go see a regular season game, I wasn't talking about accommodations but I don't really count that when I factor in how much it costs me to attend an event elsewhere because there's a vacation element there as well. I went to see the Leafs win an OT regular season game for like $80 in March. Can't even stare at the Scotiabank Centre wall in the upper bowl for that. This will sell out so simple economics would mean the price is right or maybe even too low. For myself, it's not about the $150. It's about justifying the cost. I just paid over 300 per ticket in Vegas for a playoff game. Would I rather see 2 meaningless pre season games or one playoff game in Vegas? Easily the playoff game.

So the Mooseheads aren’t to blame than maybe the new owners should be looking for a new rink (The Forum renovations )Maybe there is a chance for a 20,000 seater built at the old forum how many tickets do you think the Moosehead faithful would buy at a new facility ? My gut feeling would be 12,000 to 15,000 maybe more as it wouldn’t be built for 2 to 3 years with city population growing in leaps and bounds . Imagine the live entertainment that could be brought in with a rink that size . The forum is looking more and more like a candidate to finally get us bigger arena look at all the condo buildings built in the area in the last 5 years the population is growing in leaps and bounds in that area . My guess it’s good food thought and certainly a conversation I would be having if I was the new owners .

My guess it’s good food thought and certainly a conversation I would be having if I was the new owners . If we ever get a new arena facility there is biggest risk in moving away from downtown. Trend other places is to move into downtown. Moncton, Saint John and every major NHL team are downtown except for the Senators who were considering a move to LeBreton flats. Near downtown in Ottawa. They will be downtown next. The forum spot would have significant opposition to that type of project because it doesn't fit in. The parking and transit is not there in the North end for an event center that big. They do need an arena or set of arenas with recreation access the main goal for that property which is surrounded by residential. Halifax best opportunity to build a 15-18K arena was pre the Nova center. It would have made sense to build new arena on that site then the new convention center on the Scotiabank property. Eventually another property will come up downtown maybe on the water. Change always happens.

Anyone else trying to get tickets as a season ticket holder through ticket master it is a sham you can’t get through to them if this what tickets for Mooseheads will be like there will be a lot of angry Moosehead fans . Yep, I logged on about 8 minutes before they went for sale, and got in to select tix couple minutes after 11. It seemed that some sections or portions of sections were blocked out, and I think that also included the upper/upper bowl. So I'd say in response to you is it's your fault for not logging on sooner to get in the queue to be able to get the tickets. I know the process wasn't easy, but still take some accountability instead of blaming the Mooseheads. They have NOTHING to do with ticket sales to a pre-season NHL game bud. And there is already a thread in the off topics section where this should be, it has nothing to do with the Mooseheads. Oddly enough, the new owners claim to have some influence over matters like this. I gues we're seeing whether that's just bluster or not...
