1 goal scored at home in 3 games is rough. Definitely tough sledding going up against Rousseau and Steinman 2x in three home games but yeah, it's rough watching 3-4 players basically do all of the heavy lifting offensively with very little help throughout the rest of the lineup. Two OAs on defence and I still think we're averaging over 30 shots against per game isn't helping either.

The Speed of the Game is what jumped out at me tonight . You just know that Shortall wanted to tune up Cataford but sadly he can't and a dangerous hit from behind gets you a whole 2 minute penalty......and it is only gonna get worse .

Do you remember what games used to be like? A certain type of hockey fan constantly keeps saying things like this. "...and it is only gonna get worse" meanwhile there's literally almost no physical play on the ice. When will it get even more physical and so over the top that fighting will be the only possible way to stop it? Otherwise can we please stop pretending like the game being worse is what we moved away from? Because this endless talk from the pro-fighting crowd that every normal borderline play only happens now because there's no fighting is a pretty weak hill to die on because the game is certainly not getting worse when it comes to being dirty or physical in any way so why is there this constantly theme now that every time a kid is on the ice there's a boomer in the stands pointing out how more violence would have deterred the only somewhat close to physical play thats happened over 5 games basically? Imagine being the place where George Davis ran around the ice barely able to skate jumping into the opposing teams bench and saying the 1 bad hit that happened in over 300+ minutes of hockey was because there's no George Davis to calm things down. It just sounds delusional and that the past was some fairy tail utopia of goons protecting people. There was infinitely more incidents and injuries coming out of them when all the goons were "protecting" people.

1 goal scored at home in 3 games is rough. We're still missing...something... Halifax's experience won them that game. As the minutes ticked on they just kept at it. Once they did score it was only 1-0 but felt like the game was over. We had a couple of good chances after but Rousseau was great. But we're still not able to play a 60 minute version of what our game should look like. And the lack of offense against Moncton and Halifax is concerning only 5 games in when goaltending is average. Ruccia has looked great on home ice and wanted some goals back in SJ but just always seems to be on the wrong end of these goaltending battles. Good lessons to be learned from these early season losses but the 1 goal in 3 games isn't helping anything in the big picture.

Where did I say Goons and all those Fancy Words you used ? All I am saying is that you cannot as a Player do anything to send a message that you are not running anybody into the Boards like that on our Team in our Rink and to be clear I am not talking about the clean open ice hit that use to start something , I am talking about the Dirty Play . So let's let the Referees take care of it .........2 min penalty .....let's let the League take care of it .........oh a 1 game Suspension ......OK lets Blindside one of their Players into the Boards ....well that's just great .

So let's let the Referees take care of it .........2 min penalty .....let's let the League take care of it .........oh a 1 game Suspension ......OK lets Blindside one of their Players into the Boards ....well that's just great . You said....full statement... What else could anyone possibly take from this then you're saying guys can't fight so dirty hits are only going to get worse. That hit was a 2 minute penalty. Didn't deserve or need a fight to stop anything. I've watched most of the first 5 games. That was about the only even questionable hit. It wasn't a major penalty. It was 2 minutes. The fact you still tie even borderline hits to fighting is the issue. Not how the game is being played or policed by officials. 2 minute penalty...1 game suspension....blindside hits....things there were ALL more of when guys like George Davis played here. You and everyone know exactly why a goon gets brought into these discussions because you're still not even acknowledging that there were WAY more...like not even close to now...incidents back when the goons "policed" the game that was rougher and more violent. You're picking a weird hit to push your fighting agenda. It WAS a 2 minute penalty. It was not a suspendable hit in my opinion. The thought that Shortall should have fought the guy who took the penalty with under 5 to play in a 1 goal game against a divisional rival we want to compete with is just 1970's logic in 2023 sports. Makes zero sense. Reality is that if THAT is what you're going to use to push fighting...you need to start watching boxing or MMA. This is hockey. That was a 2 minute penalty. Fighting doesn't change any of it. It only creates...and created because we have 100 years of history as hindsight...larger escalations of violence.
