With this years draft being so heavy on defence.....other then Celebrini and Demidov.......and with the Habs being without MSL....and now Roy.....if they continue to lose, which I personally hope, they will be in position to pick a strong FW prospect! Demidov and Celebrini should be gone when they pick...Celebrini for sure......but there are still some talented FW's there to add to the Habs prospect pool. Catton is a small FW....but he puts up points. He currently has 52 goals in 66gp with Spokane...and 113pts on the season. Saying so, would they go with another "smallish" FW? Cayden Lindstrom is a big skilled FW....but has only played 32 games this season as he is still currently injured with a hand injury. In those 32 games, Lindstrom was able to put up 46pts in 32gp.....including 27 goals. If Hughes wants Demidov.....I feel he has the picks and prospects to make a move up into the draft and grab him. Will be fun to see what takes place. I like the idea of trading up if the board doesn't line up. Lindstrom would be a great fit assuming there are no red flags(injury or off ice). I would be ok trading up for him even if the cost is pretty high. Being Russian, Demidov is a wild card, Hughes and co stayed away from Michkov last year, was it about him or do they stay away early? In terms of Catton, i wouldn't worry too much about size he should be around 5'11"-6' by the time he plays NHL games. Not like e is 5'7" and they have big guys in the top 6.

With an assist on Nick Suzuki’s 29th goal of the season, Slafkovsky became the new record holder for most points (40) by a teenager in franchise history.

Will be interesting to see him next fall after another off season of training and growth. He made huge strides since last year. I would like to see him focus on his shot and shooting more.

Defence is the clear position of strength - in addition to all of the young guys already in the NHL (Guhle, Xhekaj, Struble, Barron, Harris), I think any of Mailloux, Reinbacher, Hutson would be the top D prospect for most NHL teams. Engstrom seems promising as well.
Goaltending seems promising with Fowler, Dobes, and Volokhin (plus two relatively young guys in Montembeault and Primeau already in the NHL).
Forwards are the weak spot. Not sure there is one with a clear top-6 future in the NHL ... Roy, Kapanen, Mesar could get there, but also not inconceivable that they top out as 3rd or 4th line guys in the NHL.

Mesar being a 1st rd pick should have top 6 upside but he's been a disappointment in the OHL. Eriksson is a guy few talk about but he is probably the most underrated Habs prospect, putting up over 1 PPGM in a men's league at 19. He could have top 6 upside but still early to tell. www.eliteprospects.com/player/634747/filip-eriksson

I wonder if this is from something that happened during the game against the Lightning last Thursday or something that had built up over time. I’m surprised Guhle hasn’t been shut down yet after that cheap shot he got from Kucherov. You can see how the Habs miss Guhle over the last few games ever since he got hit from behind.
