Whats everyones thoughts?
Liked how Robitaille took things in stride.
Why are things like redemption options not blatantly obvious to help both the season ticket holders and the team? What am I missing here?
The scheduling, lack of practice time, and "we're the furthest away" stuff takes up way too much time for me.
We're not taking that into account when beating Victo at the end of a Maritime road trip. This stuff effects every Q team to some degree. We're not the only ones with long bus rides to/from 2 provinces over. It certainly didn't seem to matter to anyone when we were rattling off pretty solid regular seasons from 2006 through 2010 or so.
And Sly kind of said it all about 26 minutes into the thing: "We're in really good shape right now on the ice. We're in good shape with our picks and assets we have. And we will continue to follow the plan"
Hard to argue with anything when thats the message at this point.
The consistent theme through all of these is something i've ripped them for over a decade now. Everything is internal evaluation. You never hear that they're trying to compete with Halifax this year or Moncton next year and how they're trying to do that. There is a refusal to view themselves through the lense of an 18 team league and what their potential is based on their own results.
Not once did I hear a plan about properly developing a team the community can be proud of in an image fans can get behind. All I heard was a 3 year plan going to be executed on no matter what results say. Which is exactly what I expected.

Filled it out, 250 characters is hardly enough to really get into any detail but hopefully enough people can get some point across.

Great stuff. No sense in trying to sugar coat it here, the fact that the majority owner can't figure out why people aren't interested in coming to the games and hiring the head of marketing to a former player instead of a marketing expert just goes to show the disconnect between the town population and upper management/ownership.

Always interesting to hear the current stance of ownership. I wonder if he understands how he himself is even keeping people from supporting the product. His messaging comes off as someone delusional or in denial.

Maybe it's just me but every time there's a change in the marketing department, I'm more than happy to give them the benefit of the doubt. They're dealt a pretty shitty hand, I don't think it's fair to give them any grief until they deserve it at least.

If we had a marketing professional with a background and education in marketing...easier to have higher expectations. And if ownership and upper management are preventing them from doing things that they're suggesting...thats also an unfair roadblock. I'm sure Joey Haddad would love to give people redemption tickets for example. Clearly someone/something is stopping him.

I'm sure Joey Haddad would love to give people redemption tickets for example. Clearly someone/something is stopping him. You're the second person to mention this so I just have to point out, if we're talking about Haddad... He has a Masters in Business Administration. He's not just a random former player given the job based on his hockeydb page I could argue his education + experience as a player (seeing how it use to be done in CB, how it's done in Wheeling, Gwinnett, Cardiff, and Greenville) is more valuable than someone with 10 years of experience marketing a car dealership. Based on Haddads response to that redemption tickets thing, it seemed like it was something that may have been brought up and quickly shut down. So I agree, there might be an unfair roadblock to anyone in that position... on top of the on-ice product roadblock that's often firmly in place.
