Let's start talking about this because I was discussing this with some friends last night, SJ has better food, Moncton has better food, Goodness smaller rinks like Truro have better food. so lets ask the STH what would you put in the SBC. First thing I'd do is get rid of Centerplate, prices keep going up but the food quality keeps getting worse and the portions smaller. I mean the Economy isn't helping but it's almost 5.00 for a bottle of Water now, 2-3 years ago it was 3.00 or 3.50-3.75!
I think the first thing I'd do is to keep up with other trends; I'd put a Tim's in the rink they could make a killing and put Subway back I miss having a healthy option like Subway so much. What else would you guys put in the SBC. Oh and I'd put in a real ice cream spot like they have in Moncton and get rid of dipping dots.

I was at the Metro Center before the pandemic and I thought it was very strange that there wasn't a Tim Hortons in the rink. And you're right, they'd make a ton of money. We have a small one at the Eastlink Centre and it always seems busy, and that's a pretty small rink compared to others among the Atlantic teams.
Subway would be nice for the slightly healthier option, even if it was just a handful of premade options rather than the full customization you get in a regular Subway.
But I do agree, my visit there the concessions seemed kind of lacking especially compared to the bigger or midsize junior rinks I've been to. Budweiser gardens in London and Avenir centre in Moncton have a lot of options.

I mean the Economy isn't helping but it's almost 5.00 for a bottle of Water now, 2-3 years ago it was 3.00 or 3.50-3.75! Pro tip: go to the Bud bar and ask them to fill you a cup of water with ice - it's free. I miss having a healthy option like Subway so much. Subway isn't as healthy as you think (if you're eating their sandwiches). Enough sugar that it's barely considered bread in some jurisdictions, and some of their footlongs get you almost halfway to the daily recommended intake of sodium. I do agree with you that a healthy option would be great - salad bowls and smoothies would be killer. But I do agree, my visit there the concessions seemed kind of lacking especially compared to the bigger or midsize junior rinks I've been to. Budweiser gardens in London and Avenir centre in Moncton have a lot of options. To me, what we lack inside the rink we make up for around the rink. The quality and variety of restaurants/bars surrounding the SBC is unmatched in junior hockey. My food options at Stillwell, Lot Six, Salt & Ash or Antojo (to give you some examples) will be infinitely better than anything that can be produced inside the arena - and much better bang for buck.

They used to have a rice bowl, and a butter chicken bowl that were both pretty good I remember them before Centerplate took over.
As for the Subway option I know there sandiwches(bread)isn't as healthy as you may think but you could always get a Salad bowl I've had a few pretty good Salad bowls at Subway.
