Holy shit. How is this possible? Half the team looks like they wanna be at home drinking a beer in bed and the other half just can’t win a game. This ain’t a skill issue - there is something going on in the dressing room that the players don’t like. Is it the coach? Idk

This season is playing out much like the last time Midgely ran the team. Good record but low goal differential, 17 OT games, middle of the pack power play and outworked by less talented teams on a regular basis.

Not sure about Midgely at one point he toke off are the # 1 line only to put on are 4 th line out against Bathurst 1 line lol. What’s with putting Macphee on second line and second power play he only has 2 goals in two years I don’t think that’s a good move ?

This team is actually a middle of the pack team, just like AB and the other Maritimes teams. I said it before the trade deadline and now it is obvious. At this point, let’s just enjoy this team and hope for some progression towards the end and who knows when everyone is back and if Dumais comes back, they might surprise me. They are not bad, but not close to a Championship team.

The lines are being juggled trying to generate something. Furlong has had a rough game... same with Reynolds. Furlong is getting the puck in dangerous area and just circling back to the line killing the play. Reynolds... he's skilled but he can make some bonehead turnovers over-handling the puck... and usually when he does he just kinda gives up on the play instead of trying to get it back. Not many mooseheads are great tonight tho. Milner and Levesque have been for sure but... mixed bag all over Furlong 3 or 4 times has cut back to see if a play will develop or open but it's not working... have some urgency, get it to the net, at least give it the opportunity for a lucky bounce or rebound if the perfect play isn't there. The Moose had what felt like a 6 minute shift in the Bathurst zone but other than that stretch pretty uninspired. Urgency. That's a good word. The team completely lacks it against opponents they think they should beat. It's not a talent issue, it's not a personnel issue, it's a compete issue.

Im having the same thoughts, if Dumais does return, and Rousseau plays like Rousseau, anything can happen in the playoffs. But they are not on the same level as the other contenders

Loving Levesque return. His speed is incredible. One of the few bright spots of the night. Forwards struggled tonight. Importance of Dumais is getting scary. Cant wait to see this team with everyone healthy and the coaches holding people accountable. Wow, just wow, am I alone on this? How many times can we throw a certain person out there in a do or die situation and we die? How many? ?? Every time!!!! 3 on 3 takes Hockey IQ and speed both mind and skates. The D guy cannot or doesn't get the hang of 3 on 3 and the importance of puck possession. Shame on Midge and shame on Cam for letting this go on and drag on as long as it has. Mackinnon(speed) or Moravec(IQ) could not go wrong. It's not the kids' fault. I blame Midgely, Cam or the D coach. Strange if you ask me.

I have a feeling we’ll beat Victoriaville and Drummondville in a couple of weeks. Why? Because the team will want to prove themselves. They’ll have a completely different body language. You even saw it last game against Moncton! Just curious but what does everyone think the odds of Midgley leaving during the season and after the season are? I’d go for 5% during the season and 50% after this season.

I think those percentages are spot on lol

Boys have to shoot the puck more instead of trying to be too cute. And it helps when you hit the net when you do shoot. That PP in the second period was god awful. Reynolds has not been the player we saw when he played for SJ. I thought someone said he was sick a few ago weeks before Christmas. Not sure what it is but his effort has not been good. Have to wonder if Midgley is the problem for the underwhelming play. I heard at the time he was fired in 2018, he lost the respect of the room after a player told him to F-off. Maybe they aren't responding to his message anymore. They were doing something right for the first couple of months of the season going 19-7 then 7-11 since. A lot of the losing was while they were missing the 3 best position players on the team but still, effort is visible and lately it's been lacking. Sprynar is, so far, what we hoped for. He seemed a bit off for a couple of shifts after the knock he took to the head. Milner played well. Denis was involved and physical. I thought Roelens would have been a better pickup but I'm happy with Denis instead. They have to get their shit together.

They have the skill. Are they the favourite to win the league with everyone healthy and 100% effort - probably not. Should they be loosing and struggling as badly - probably not. If we can find our motivation and effort I can see the playoffs be fun. If we can’t get our shit together - we’ll be ready for a rough ride.

Not the same team at home as they are on the road. The one bright spot on that Thursday game is they need to leverage their D play. With G & D (usually Rousseau in net) they should accidentally win games when they can't score. They should be very pristine on the back end. Find a line with consistency and maybe some secondary scoring will come.
Right now the top scorers stopped producing last week or two. The trade acquisitions are doing the work but it's not enough.
