What were everyone's thoughts on the game last night? Romeo is looking like a great pickup so far, and Newcombe has hit the ground running.
Is it out of the realm of possibility to catch moncton?

It is essentially out of the realm of possibility to move up in the standings, but in the end this team is going to be a very tough out for any team in the playoffs.
Thought they played a great game and were clearly the better team last night. The additions of Cibulka, Romeo and Newcombe can't be understated. 3 additional impact players on top of your Squires, Houde, MacDonald, Ruccia, Lavoie etc is a big add to the team.

Was pretty excited about the way they played last night, especially the first half of the game, and was asking myself this same question. A six point difference doesn't sound like much but Moncton has played three less games as well. Not impossible to catch them, but would take an extended run of great play. Halifax was sputtering a little for a while as well but are now 5-0-2 in their last seven and seem to be too far ahead. It almost seems like a first round matchup with Rimouski is inevitable at this point and we are just fighting for home ice. With their goaltending, defensive game, PK and new offensive additions to the lineup, they will prove to be a tough team to beat in the playoffs. They will have a tough road as a 4 or 5 seed starting against Rimouski and, if they win, then likely having Baie-Comeau in round two.

This could be a Win - Win for both Teams . Romeo seems to be fitting in ...........but when you get the Highest Rated 15 Year Old in the Province in the Draft and 2 short years later , he is gone ......you are gonna keep a close eye on him .

Shields was nothing but a passenger here, 99 games in and was just going through the motions every game. Glad to see he's getting top 6 minutes elsewhere but at this stage in the cycle I would rather have what Romeo is bringing to our team, actually helping us win games.

And its not like he was going to earn minutes on this team over the next 12 months to make him into what we needed for the Spring of 2025. He regressed from last year. Was having a tough time producing here. And was passed on the depth chart by a few teammates and new additions. The style Romeo brings is a big plus at this level. He fits in nicely in the middle of our lineup where he's not expected to be the guy so any production we do get is a huge bonus.

I follow numerous players through the league with next level potential. Romeo has that. There was a reason why he was on the NHL watch last year and then attended Chicagos Rookie camp in sept. He is garnering NHL attention again since his back half has improved. What I don’t think people are taking into account is that he had a serious injury at camp to his face/jaw. Bedard hit him with a shot in the face which led to a fracture in the first game vs St. Louis. The kid is tough and returned to the game and played the next day with a bubble. Didn't miss any time when back in PEI but probably should have given the injury time to heal vs playing. He plays a physical brand and an injury like that takes from his game. The change has been good for him, seems to healthier and his play is reflecting that. Has an outstanding shot and skates well, tough and mean too, as many of you are starting to witness. He should be a top six player and will continue to improve this back half. 7 goals, 8 points in 10 games +11, I’d say he is making an impact. Sly has made some good moves and Romeo is certainly a big part of the teams success moving forward. This will be a team with several players I will continue to watch.

The wildcats don't want to play CB in the playoffs this year ! Good team and the 1 team I wouldn't want the wildcats to play a 7 games series against , CB has our number ! CB will surprise a few teams in the playoff's .

I assume you mean currently on the Eagles? The way I see it, the Eagles currently run a top 9, I am not sure how Romeo could get more ice time than he is getting. There is plenty to like about his game, I think the knock on him early in his Q career was his consistency, some nights he just seemed to be going through the motions. So far, I am seeing a player that really likes his new home and will only get better as time goes on.
