It's the second time in a short period GM Yannick Gaucher fires his head coach after Brad Yetman at the end of last season.

After Rouyn's loss against Sherbrooke last week, Dagenais threw his GM under the bus when he kind of criticized Olivier Dubois' trade for a 6th round pick. Dubois had just scored a goal and added 3 assists against his former team. It probably didn't help their relationship!

Every team whiffs on players, but Rouyn gave Dubois and Minville away for peanuts in the off-season.
I'm not sure many people would have predicted both guys having massive career years, but usually it's Rouyn on the other end of those transactions.

I just learned of this coaching change. If the reason is the coach calling out the GM for trades that's as good a reason as any even with a top team. The dissent should never go public like that. Needs stay internal. And the team doesn't need excuses. Players have to buy in and how can they if the coach is saying things like that.
It takes guts to make that move on a top team but I think it's the right move, and I think the Huskies will stay well on track.
It is OK for the rest of us to agree with some of what the coach said - but overall Huskies mgmt makes the right moves more than most other organizations do. We don't see what they see but give them the benefit of the doubt they know how to run a junior team there.

Their drafting wasn’t as good as it was, so that’s why they made so much trades. They won in 2016 and 2019 with stellar drafting and a few trades adding impact players.

Beausoleil doesn’t plan to stay as head coach of the Olympiques so if they have an interest in Dagenais it might be a perfect match since he’s from the Ottawa area.
