Should be like 4-0 Halifax right now but it’s still 1-0. Can’t get any dangerous shots.

It seems like the same story for the Mooseheads home games every time. Low scoring game. Let the other teams hang around all game and then blow it in the 3rd. Very frustrating.

Late goals from Reynolds and Todd and they pull that one out. That was closer then it should have been.

Well the first 30min were phenomenal. And the last 30min weren’t. Oh well a win is a win. It’s nice to see all lines connecting more and more. We had some sustained pressure even with our 3rd/4th line. We keep our power play goals coming. I think I saw were almost 40% for PPG in the last 5 games. That’s great.

Quiet game for Vidicek and Cataford except for rushing plays into the offensive zone, great game by Levesque, Crosby, Sprynar, and Furlong. Phillips was decent too.
Need more dangerous chances though, Leaver was very shaky in nets at points. Could’ve buried some.
Wins a win though! Let’s keep moving.

Deserved win but made it harder than it needed to be.
All three of our big deadline additions have heavy one-timers in their arsenal - something this roster didn't really have before. Adds a different sort of threat compared to the usual tic-tac-toe we always gravitate towards.

The funny thing about that top line is they keep trying new people with it but nothing is working. Maybe you try breaking them up? I know the plan is to keep them together and then when Dumais comes back it fixes things. But why not try some new combinations. The team seems like its just waiting for the playoffs to start, Even Roster doesnt seem to have the same swagger to his game.

For comparison, hit totals around the league tonight show: Saint John 25 Charlottetown 18 Cape Breton 31 Baie-Comeau 25 Gatineau 14 Rimouski 29 Quebec 20 Sherbrooke 18 The usual 7-5; 8-7 single digit numbers from Halifax clearly don't use the same standard for a hit that other teams use. Does the league advise their scorers on this sort of thing - or these people simply take it upon themselves to define what a hit is? The Mooseheads with MacKinnon, Shultz, Denis, Cataford, Vidicek, Braeden MacPhee, Furlong, Moravec, Todd and so on are a very physical team - but you'd never know it from the Halifax game sheets. Maybe Halifax isn't as physical a team as you think they are. Maybe they don't need to be. Checking all of Halifax's away games to date, most of them have Halifax in the low to mid-teens in hits, with some single digit games, and some games in the high teens to low 20's. Just sayin......

Thanks for that, and I didn't think of looking at those away games. I'm going to try to keep track in tonight's game, but it's likely not as easy as it sounds. Not at all meaning to dump on the people doing it. It's just seems so off sometimes from the games I just watched play out. I could be in for a real eye opener - and the Mooseheads' scorers actually being some of the best in the league Another thing to keep in mind is that the team with more hits is usually the one with less puck possession time. Halifax to me seems like a physical enough team when the right play is to lay a hit, but some games they can control play so well they don't need to be physical. If the puck possession part is true for some game and Halifax is still hitting more than the other team, I'd say that says more about the other teams' efforts than Halifax.
