The Eagles last regular season trip to Québec started last night against the league leading Baie-Comeau Drakkar, unfortunately the guys came out on the wrong end of last night's contest losing 6-3 the big story being special teams in my opinion as the Eagles went 0 for 3 on the Powerplay while the Drakkar went 2 for 4 and added a shorthanded goal which ended up being the game winner but the guys have to have a short memory as they are right back at it against the Chicoutimi Saguenéens game time is 5:00 AST

Eagles having a rough first 5 minutes in Chicoutimi down 2-0 early in the 1st.

2-1 Chicoutimi after the 1st, C-AL on the powerplay from Burbidge and Romeo answered back for the Eagles.
Moncton down 2-1 to Drummondville early in the 2nd as I write this and Rimouski is tied at 1 against Gatineau as of now.
Hopefully the Eagles can grab the lead in the 2nd as these are an important two points up for grabs before tomorrow's game against Rimouski.

Still 2-1 after 40 throwing alot on net but Précourt has been up to the task, meanwhile 3-3 Moncton and Drummondville in the 3rd and 5-1 Gatineau against Rimouski.

Houde ties the game at two then the Eagles proceed to give up two goals in 83 seconds.
Edit: 5-2 now knew this was going to be a hard road trip but bad time for the team to go cold.

Tough loss this afternoon - didn’t quite have that mojo but good news is Moncton and Rimouski lost
Sunday probably most important game of season thus far - need to play like it’s playoff mentality

20 minutes away from either salvaging two points from this trip or a long angry bus ride home.

Probably the worst 3 games I’ve watched Squires and Burbidge play. If those 2 guys can’t show up in must win games then you can kiss a 1st round win goodbye.

The guys were gonna go cold eventually after the hot start to the 2nd half but to head home from an important 3 game road trip with 0 points is very frustrating.

Shouldn’t they be able to turn things up in big games? MacDonald has been invisible for weeks and when the going gets tough what happens to Houde? The 18’s need the experience, the vets should bring it.

Unfortunately they probably just played themselves out of home ice in round 1 on this trip. 2 very winnable games and a tough challenge in BC, sucks to come home with 0 points out of that.

I only saw highlights of the first two games and watched last game for a better appreciation of game play. Macdonald is dealing with and playing with a bit of injury. Squires was better, more physically engaged, he has to play more like that. Big drop off after that unfortunately for some of their key guys. Romeo continues his strong performance. He was the best player on the ice for them. 5 shots, 6 hits and mixing it up to go with his goals. As I mentioned before, this kid can shoot the puck. Great pick up by Sly. The D looked a bit tired and just a step behind. Easily fixable with some rest and a reset with video. This should be a good learning experience for the team. Mirrors don’t lie. Let’s see how the team responds here. I’ve been watching Moncton, they are in a tail spin. Wouldn’t be surprised if a coaching change happens as well?? Good time for the Eagles to take advantage of this and get back into the winning column. Not all is lost Eagles country.
