0-0 after 1st. Is it just me or are the Mooseheads too casual with the puck around their own net and getting it out of their zone. Defenseman will carry the puck right out in front of their net or make a casual pass around the net.

Well both teams play an equally okay game. Let’s hope we can pick it up before CB does.

Two identical goals, one counted and one didn't.
The ice is terrrrrrrible tonight. Puck's bouncing everywhere and won't lay flat.

Hope Sprynar is ok.
No idea how the CB coach could call that a dive when its a straight up blind-side hit. Sometime players go for their Oscar but nothing about it seemed artificial.
....and he gets back on the ice as I was typing this. Glad he's ok!

You know what just gets my goat with this team? We tend to always play down to the opposition. If we could ply the same way we played against Drummondville against all the other teams we’d have more wins and less one goal wins.

I mean, one goal wins are still wins - and it does take two to tango. Take tonight's game, Cape Breton is literally sitting back and playing NZ trap the whole game... just trying to grind it out and get a lucky bounce at our end. You have to give them (the Eagles) credit, they have a decent-ish roster and always play really hard against us. We still put 3 past Ruccia (one called back), and missed two breakaways.

Did anyone else notice how often the top spent the majority of time on the ice playin in our end? If you can watch the game back especially the first period it will scare you.

Also, something to keep an eye on: they shuffled the top 4 last night and played MacKinnon with Furlong. Wonder if that's going to stick as the #1 pair as we get to the business end of the season to match up against the top opposition line.

My biggest takeaway from that game is CB is going to be a problem come playoffs. They are a team layoff team. Them and Moncton will be a fun series to watch.
Another thing I noticed was MacKinnon and Furlong were paired together a lot last night. Not the whole game but they were thrown out together enough to notice it. Which put Moravec with Schultz occasionally. The 2nd pairing here they didn’t really stand out but the 1st seemed to be more physical and took away more chances. That’s just my opinion.
Watching last game really got me thinking about the line combos after watching the clip of Dumais back on the ice. The number one line back together will not be fun for other team to handle. Right now Levesque with the 2 other guys doesn’t really work. He relies on his speed to get open but if he can’t get up to speed he’s just there. The 2nd line with Crosby on the wing is pretty effective. They all seem to find each other and Crosby has become a presence in front of the net. I wouldn’t touch those guys at all. The 3rd line however could be sneaky good once Dumais is back. This is where I see Levesque playing once Dumais is back in the picture. I used to thin MacPhee was basically guaranteed the 3rd center job. Todd and Sprynar have seemed to click a little and if you add Levesque to that combo teams are going to have a problem. The speed of Sprynar and Levesque together will be a headache alone, but adding the pestiness of Todd to them. They won’t be fun to defend. The other thing is Todd just has more touch than MacPhee. Let’s face it offensive chances die on MacPhees stick.
