With the ECHL out of Newfoundland, does this represent an opportunity to relocate a team to St-John’s ? Fog Devils part 2 ?

The economic climate is even harder. Travel is even harder. The people there just don't take to the Q product.
I just can't see it happening without some absolutely perfect conditions. The Fog Devil experiment was just that. It was doomed from day 1 with the local political bullshit around ownership and the building lease.
So is there an extremely deep pocketed owner looking to run a CHL team at a loss in order to try and build that market who can get the building people on board and find a travel situation to suit everyone?
And to pay for it is there an appetite for a $30-$35 junior hockey ticket in a market where many think the ECHL is worth supporting but the Q is high school hockey?

I think the only way I could see it is if there is some new owner whos looking to make a splash (like the Simons) and they find a way to secure an air travel sponsor (Air Canada, Westjet, PAL Airlines) that could subsidize some of their travel.
Personally I'd love to see it just to be able to have an excuse to travel there as a visting fan. There is more flights to St Johns now from Moncton & Halifax than there was in 2005.
Imagine how healthy the league could look if they had teams in:
St Johns Fredericton (w/new arena) Trois Rivieres Manchester NH
Suddenly you'd have 4 more teams who can host the memorial cup.

I don't think the Q will ever return to NFLD just too much would have to go right to make it sustainable in the long run.
Plus I think the Q should worry more about increasing the pool of players they can pull from before they think about adding more teams.

Manchester is pretty far down there, it'd make more sense geographically to put a team in Bangor ME or Burlington VT.

I don't know of any place in Maine that could successfully have a Q team. I would think you need to go in to New Hampshire.
