There's a nice article on NHL.com about Crawford and his increasing his chances at becoming the back-up in Chicago next year.

Also in The Hockey News' 2008 Yearbook they have him listed as Chicago's #3 of 10 top prospects and they expect him to male the jump to the backup role today. They also give him great technical credit saying he is almost technically perfect

I don't see how Crawford can crack the backup job with Khabi and Huet there... Unless of course they try to move Khabi, which will prove to be difficult, 6.some million, last year on contract... He will be hard to move..

He will be hard to move.. I know. They are day dreaming. No one is going to want Khabi for that much. He's making more then guys like Brodeur and Fleury.

The only way would be if a bottom team was interested at taking him from waivers at half the salary.

Chicago wouldn't waive them...if they were gonna do that, they would've already done it prior to July 1st. They intend on playing him.. The only way Crawford has a chance of getting a backrole on the team, is if 1) huet or khabi gets injured, or 2 they can trade Khabi...I dont even see them trading him if they make the playoffs and he's on top of his game.. If he's mediocre at best I can see them trading him and be on the hook for part of his salary...that's the only way someone will trade for him...he's too expensive, plus on the last year of his contract..
