If Leroux won't do the job, Worden will and that's his primary skill. Its not just about will it is about ability. The Rocket had Paynter who was more than willing to drop the gloves with anyone. And while he did a solid job he certainly wasn't the type of player who intimidated other teams. Lane appears to be more like the throwback Cormier/Tidball type who is huge and could intimidate unless teams have someone to match up against him. My comment was that looking around the division teams don't appear to have that kind of "enforcer" to match up against him. I just named 2(Worden and Piasno) plus teams like Rimouski, Chicoutimi, Gatineau, Shawinigan and RN have guys that can chuck 'em.

He was the 6th top scorer in the league at 17. 2nd was former Sea Dog Tony Resendes. Of the 5 guys ahead of him 3 were 20 and the other 2 were 18 and 19.

I remember Piasno from last preseason. He totally dominated Bobby Little in a fight here in Moncton. There was blood all over the ice, and Little had to change his jersey. 6'-6", 230lb, and he can definitly throw some heavy punches.

Pisano isn't even coming to Sea Dogs camp, he is staying in Pictou County to play Jr A

That doesn't leave a whole lot of fighters in the division then. Worden in Bathurst as the only other one??? I got to say that a 17YO doesn't really intimidate a whole lot of people on other teams either.
If Moncton wants to compete with every other team though it is not a bad Idea to have an enforcer that can play decently on the team. Even having two kinda solidifies your team even more. Once the first one is out there's still somebody else left to intimidate.

I think they will this year. The Sill Branon and ? line Plus an enforcer or 2 makes for a team you hate to play against

Does everyone remember what Worrell did in the Q. He had the ability to run over and hurt people. I remember a bone crushing hit on Jamie Brown, had Shelley not challenged him, he would have destroyed everyone he went near. Sometimes size does matter.

The need for that type of player is much less evident now, it's more of a luxury to have a Kevin Cormier type.

Bottom line he is an FA, costs us nothing to bring in and have a look ... if he shows in camp he is a legitimate heavyweight scrapper, we can keep him ... IF by mid-season the Atlantic is unusually tame and we feel we can't justify ice time for him, we can flip him to one of the Quebec teams - someone is always willing to pay a 5th for a solid enforcer mid-season ... anytime you bring in an FA, it is a no-lose situation pretty much ...

No, that's next year when RJ is draft eligible. I can see us taking him first overall (BC pick) with the draft in Moncton ...
