Telegraph Journal reported today that Alexandre Leduc will be lost to the Seadogs until at least January due to a kne injury that will require surgery. The team official that was talking to the reporter(can't remember who it was) said that Leduc will have to be replaced by either someone stepping up or through a trade. Since they had him pencilled in as their #3 center and we have a bunch of those types of players I think the Cats would be a logical trade partner for the Dogs. So-who would you trade, what would you want for him and who would the Dogs be most interested in? I would move Lessard,Sill or Brannon(if the price was right) to make room for one of the new guys but I think SJ would be most interested in Sill for that role on the team.I have no idea what fair trade value would be as I don't know the SJ players but Sill should get a good return. I would think a 2nd rounder and a player now?

NO WAY!!! Sill is the best player we've got! Althought I get laughed at on these boards I still believe Moncton will finish ahead of Saint John this year. I would really be disapointed to see him go.
On the other hand I agree that Moncton really has alot of Q calibre players. They really should trade off some players. I would hate to see kids miss out on Q hockey because of being on a team with too much depth.
I would love to get MacMillan from Halifax, but then again everyone would.

I don't think Moncton is a good trade partner because Leduc was supposed to be someone that was going to slide up and down between the 2nd and 3rd line...also, Sill is 20, and we aren't going to acquire another 20 to replace a 19...

I just think SJ would be most interested in Sill-seems like he would be a good fit for them. I love watching Sill play-so the price would have to be right. At this point Brannon and Lessard are both underachievers so we wouldn't get best return for them.

Maybe I'm not the best judge of talent... but I feel trading away players because we have "too much depth" would be unwise. When you have as many openings as Moncton does on their roster this season, it's generally not due to spectacular depth. And if Moncton DOES finish ahead of the Dogs, I will proclaim you prediciton king of the decade, dethroning Neil Hodge who I'm certain still brags about prediciting Chicoutimi would defeat the Eagles back in 2004.

And with good reason! While several posters predicted the eventual blowup of those Eagles, I think Hodge may have been the only person on the planet to predict that it'd happen in rd 2 vs Chicoutimi.

I don't wanna see us lose Sill. And as one guy said, they aren't looking to add a 20 year old. Maybe Lessard?
