Wonder if we will bother to bring back a 20 year old - Eastman might make a good addition, especially while we wait for Voynov. Wonder what he is up to?

That opens up a spot for Petterson to play center IMHO

I would like to see Pettersson move to center to see what he could do there. He backchecks hard enough. But it will be a shame to miss Sill for 4 weeks.

It will also give some of the new guys a little more ice time to show what they got vs Q teams. Guys like Tremblay and Pettersson. Sucks for the Cats but a big opportunity for some of the new blood.

I think its the biggest opportunity for Stephens. More Ice time for sure and a real chance to build confidence and see what he can do in a month. The beginning of the year when the teamings are unorganized and learning is the perfect time too.

it is wit big loss we will see how the team can stick together remember that barbario , riopel , cameron are all leaving for camps and now sill injured Yeah makes a lot of sense that the Q starts their season at the exact time when a bunch of players leave for NHL camps. I'm still not sure why they couldn't move the start of the season ahead another week and start when the OHL and WHL start their seasons. I'm not complaining just because the Cats are going to be missing guys but PEI and Saint John will be missing key players as well this weekend which is disappointing because I want to see the best product possible. With home openers around the league always being a big draw why give the fans a glorified pre-season product when they're paying regular season prices? Just move the start of the season ahead a week when the vast majority of players will be back with their junior teams. On the original topic of this thread it's pretty frustrating to lose a key player in a completely meaningless pre-season game. That game being even more meaningless than the others because the rosters were already decided by Sunday.

With such little time and opportunities to get reacquainted with teammates, or finding chemistry with new ones, veterans should be playing the final couple games before the season opener. Although unfortunate, I think we will be surprised by how well a couple of players will improve their leadership abilities in light of the difficulty in replacing a player like Sill. Scott Brannon being the first that comes to mind.
