So far this kid looks pretty good on the point during the PP, I can't remember too many Cats Dmen who could keep the puck in play like Gormley can. It seems almost everytime the oppostion tries to clear the puck, Gormley has a knack of keeping the puck in and the play continuing. This kid is going to be a very special player for a long time.

He has good mobility and seems to be pretty creative with the puck ... the last couple of years we have a QB who is willing to move with and without the puck, don't get me wrong, Barberio is a good point man, but I think he is more suited to being the heavy shot guy when set up, as opposed to being the playmaker - he tends to favour the easy pass, while Gormley seems more willing to take a chance - I think as he gets used to the league he will be very good indeed - it is amazing how much ice time he is getting as a 16 year old d-man ...

Once Cameron and/or Voynov are back, Gormley will probably end up on the #2 PP but it's still good for him to get that time as a rookie. He's gonna be a heck of a player as long as he keeps working at it and learning, he has as much upside as any d-man we have had.

From what I've heard so far, it seems that Gormley not only has very good vision with the puck, but also uses it to get in good position.
Walking the blueline, finding seams in the opposing penalty kill for a pass or a shot, etc. I haven't heard a lot of his defensive play, but he seems to be very solid in the opposing zone. Wont be as flamboyant as Yandle or as Sanford, but will rack up points nonetheless.
