Concerning the new rule which says any faceoff after a penalty is in your own end, there does appear to be an exception - after a goal ... the other day in the V-D game, we scored, and one of their players cross-checked someone after the puck went in and was awarded a 2 minute minor ... the ensuing faceoff took place at centre ice ... is this a legitimate exception to the new rule, where a faceoff at centre ice after a goal trumps all else, or did the refs botch it?

I'm not 100% sure on that, but when I used to referee, under Hockey Canada and Hockey NB rules, a center ice face-off after a goal trumps all else.
