Good game from the Cats, although I thought at times we looked tired. I thought Halifax played hard for a team that doesn't have a lot of weapons on their team. Our defence continues to get the job done for us. After 6 games, we've only allowed 9 goals, the best in the Q. Gormley is going to be a hell of a player for us. I'm so impressed with his play. He looks so calm back there. Riopel had a solid outing, although I'm sure he'd like to have their first goal back. Brown had a strong game, nice to have him back in the lineup.
I have to say I'm impressed with our 6-0 start. I realize that we haven't had any tough opponents.. but at the same time, we've been missing key players. Cameron missed four games. Brown missed three games. Sill has missed all of the games and is still out. Barberio missed two games. Biduke missed four games and is still out. I look forward to seeing us play with a full lineup. A big test will be on Friday night, when Shawinigan comes to town, as they are supposed to be one of the stronger teams in the league.

The Cats will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Riopel in nets. Cats win 4-2. You have a lotto ticket for the next draw by any chance? Hah.

Congrats to the team on setting the record for the best start in franchise history. I'm not getting too excited based on the quality of opponents so far but this is a very good start nonetheless. Should be an interesting 4-game homestand coming up with expected contenders Shawinigan and Saint John this coming weekend and Victoriaville and a Montreal team that is starting to play well the following weekend.

The Cats hot start is a bit misleading ... 5 of our 6 games were against the bottom 4 teams in the Q today (PEI, Hal, VD, SJ) ... one being SJ which wasn't the real Seadogs at the time we played them ... and even Lew is in the bottom 7.
The most impressive stat IMO is the 9 GA in 6 games and the 95% PK ... but they again are a product of who we have played ... but still impressive. It's early in the season and rosters are still incomplete ... I expect we'll finish the season slightly better than 0.500.

I agree their record has not been the toughest, but lots of key players were out of the lineup at different times(Famin Barberio Cameron Sill Biduke) and they never missed a beat. To me the biggest surprise of the 1st month has been the production of Brannon Stephens and MacAusland. Stephens was pointless this past weekend, hopefully it wasn't just a flash in the pan.

Stephens was in on the disallowed goal in Halifax ... I think Petterson was temporarily awarded the goal. Even though he doesn't get credit for the point ... in reality he did continue his solid play.

Not to mention too that they have 5-6 days off everytime they play 2 games in 3days for the first 5 weeks of the season . I thought it was funny in today's paper that Flynn was saying he was impressed about the sunday win with the tough schedule they've had lately .......must be because they played in a ball hockey tournament

Probably only one good night of sleep between games.

Luckily the game was against Halifax or it might have been a struggle to win

Luckily the game was against Halifax or it might have been a struggle to win Yes there have been so many weekday games this season that clearly no other team has had a schedule like the Cats. Check the schedules of B-C, Dru, Lew, Mtl, PEI, Que, and Rim
