TORONTO, Wednesday, October 8, 2008 – The Canadian Hockey League today announced its most recent CHL Mosaik MasterCard Top 10 rankings for the 2008-09 season. Four Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams managed to crack the upper echelon of the CHL: The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, the Moncton Wildcats, the Drummondville Voltigeurs and the Quebec Remparts.
The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League's top 10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.
CHL Mosaik MasterCard Top 10 Rankings
1. Windsor Spitfires (6-1-0-0) 2. Cape Breton Screaming Eagles (8-1-0-0) 3. Moncton Wildcats (7-0-1-0) 4. Swift Current Broncos (6-1-0-0) 5. Vancouver Giants (6-0-0-1) 6. Belleville Bulls (5-1-0-0) 7. Drummondville Voltigeurs (7-1-0-1) 8. Quebec Remparts (7-1-0-0) 9. Guelph Storm (5-2-0-0) 10. Spokane Chiefs (4-1-0-2)

dumb question...how is it that the Windsor Spitfires have been #1 since the very first list--yet they've played less games than other teams (ie. Quebec Remparts 7-1-0-0)?

Moncton and Cape Breton both played more games, have higher winning percentages and a higher GF. Moncton even has a lower GA than them. It's a good thing that they have no bearing on anything (aside from bragging rights) as they rarely make perfect sense...never have.

The so called experts/judges look at teams potential of being a dominate team as well as standings. Windsor is supposed to be a power house with taylor hall this year. I'm sure thats why they are bumped up.
