So far so good with this team of ours... Why is it that other fans feel that we need a "sniper" and "elite defenseman" to truly go for it?
"We have no offensive threat" (ie. big name powehouse forward)...do we really need one guy that the other teams focus on?
I like the fact that you really don't know for sure WHERE the next goal of ours will come from...be it a foward on the 4th line,a defenseman from our own end (exageration).
It's nice to know that we have a "team effort" on our goal scoring.
--let the ranting begin on my naive-ness.

Think back to the 05-06, the Mem Cup championship game in particular - one guy made the difference in that game (Radulov) (and yes, Pelletier over-performed, too). A championship team more often than not has a "game-breaker" type player - the go-to guy on the team that provides that extra spark or jump over the other teams. Moncton hasn't proven (yet) that they are better than the existing SJ, Shaw, Que and Rim teams - much less better than those teams if they load up during the trade period. The next 6 weeks will determine whether Moncton is a top-5 team or a legitimate contender.

Desjardins got hot/lucky and the Cats top players(Goulet Karsums Dupuis Marchand) except Yandle were snakebitten.

Hense us winning the 7 game series for the Presidents Cup and the 1 game upset in Quebec winning. I do not agree with Cedric "my equipment is huge" Desjardins being lucky....he played quite well throughout the tournament and playoffs.

I always felt that if Luc Burdon had of been healthy then Radulov and Melanson would not have been allowed to do all that dipsy-doodling around in our end because they would have been flat on their backs after crossing the line and far more cautious handling the puck in our end.

Agreed. That was the primary reason he was acquired.

Uh, yes, I meant Desjardins (brain freeze). Re the 7-game series, though, remember that 4 of the 6 games went to overtime, so it's not like Moncton dominated the Remparts. Moncton had players who were capable of being game-breakers, too - Yandle, Bourdon, Pineault. The point is that Moncton doesn't really have anyone who has shown themselves to belong at that level (yet), besides Riopel.
