I'd be willing to bet that this fact will be mentioned at the game tomorrow.

Every team would mention it. What's your point?

First of all, not every team would mention it. The Cats are one of the very few who do.
That top 10 is as worthwhile as the 3 stars. You can't compare teams from all 3 leagues who don't play each other. They just look at the records and put them in some sort of order.

Every team would mention it. What's your point? I have been in at least two other rinks while those teams have been top 10 ranked... and it didn't get mentioned... so... no.

So you mean to say that scouts won't recomennd our players on the basis of us being ranked #2? I'd figure this would allow them to simply draft from the Wildcats without having to come here. Between that and the three stars, Moncton should become a mecca for prospects.

I have no problem with them milking it ... it creates a buzz in the building and in the community ... hard core fans like the ones found in here know the rankings tend to be pretty meaningless, and not overly reliable, but to the casual hockey fan, seeing the leadup to the game in the paper and on the radio ads trumpeting the team as #2 in the country, can make the difference in whether or not they decide to go to the game.

As long as they don't take out "the banner".

Is it just me or doesn't it seem odd (comparing the records) that Guelph is even on the list? With a win % of 0.656 shouldn't another go over them? Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 0.706 Tri-City Americans 0.700 Saskatoon Blades 0.694 Swift Current Broncos 0.688
I know it's like the 3 stars and pretty skewed but it just doesn't seem to make sense to me unless they put up unreal numbers in the last week?

I know it's still early, but you can't really look at the win%... by that logic, Moncton could win their first 50 games for 100pts and lose their last 20 and still be in the top 10 at the end of the season.

It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubts. I guess it is huh?
