Hard to move up if the team your trying to leap frog is dominating as well.

Funny, I've watched Windsor play one game all year and that's the one they lost. I don't want Moncton to go into first so I'll continue NOT watching them

Who cares if they ever move up it is a great marketing tool...it draws national attention to the team but means nothing on the ice.

I doubt it draws fans...I think the Cats record, the young players and the fact that this is a team not a bunch of free agents parachuted in for one year...that is what is drawing the fans. I think waving a national ranking in an opponents face also motivates them to knock you off. It is a nice warm fuzzy feeling but it really means nothing.

Who said anything about waving a flag in the opponents face. I thought we were talking about our fans and our team?? But in any event, the record, the national ranking, and anything else they can think of are all used to market the team in order to interest the fans and to get them to come out to the games. Marketing sells your product. The only question is how much of an effect it has.

And for a marketing tool to be effective you should know if it created results...I don't think it does with the fans in this market.
