After watching last night's game,I'm convinced that the Cats will not go all the way in the playoffs unless they make a couple of moves. A best case scenario right now would be making 3rd round if they stand pat.Is that good enough for this year-leave the boys hungry for next year and make all our moves next year?Do we split the difference, make small moves and go as far as possible(still probably 3rd round) or make some bigger moves and strike now since the boys are knocking on the door this year?
If you were the GM for the Cats(sorry-Director of Hockey Operations)-who would you trade, who would you trade for and at what price? Scenario #1-Voinov reports which sets up the defence. Who are the forwards to target and what do you give up? Scenario #2-Voinov doesn't show up.There is now room for another Euro- who do you trade for and what do you give up?
So-who's 1st to sit in the GM(sorry-DOHO) chair and make some moves?

I thought Gratchev looked fantastic last night. I don't know if he was auditioning for a job but man he is some slick with the ouck. Not scared to hit and can skate. Might not be a bad idea.

Lewiston didn't pay much for him. A 2nd and 4th round pick, He wouldn't cost too much IMO, he'd be a good addition
2008-08-29 Rimouski Lewiston Gratchev, Maxime (1988-09-26) Rd_6, 2010 Lewiston Rimouski Rd_4, 2009 Rd_2, 2010

The cats need a winger who can crash the net with the puck. Our wingers are constantly kept on the outside making weak, low percentage shots, or being rubbed out. Could Gratchev fill that void?

I still think Joly would the best 20 year old fit for your team but I'm sure Bathurst would severely overcharge you guys to get him, to the point you'd likely be better off getting someone else.

I heard the most ridiculous rumor last night. This trade would be great for the Cats and poor for Lewiston. It'll never happen
To Moncton
Maxime Gretchev (20) Micheal Ward (19) Danick Paquette (18)
To Lewiston
Jeff Bell (17) Daniel Pettersson (18) Ted Stephens (18) 1st Round Pick From Baie Comeau 2nd Round Pick
Not enough by a lot IMO
Would be great as a Cats Fan tho
Gretchev - Cameron - Eagles Lessard - Brown - Paquette MacAusland - Sill - Brannon

Brannon and Eagles always go to the net, they score a lot of goals in tight. Lessard also but he is more of a corner amn on taht line.

Scenario#1--Voinov reports. Lessard,Leahy,Tremblay and a 2nd to Bathurst for Joly. THEN Cameron,Downe,Roski and a 3rd for Gratchev. New lineup: Eagles Brown Joly Famin Stephens Gratchev Brannon Sill Macausland Petterson Bissonnette Noseworthy
Voinov Barberio Savard Jodoin Dimitruk/Boyle Gormley
Scenario #2--No Voinov.Lessard,Leahy,Tremblay,Daoust,1st(ours) and a 2nd to Bathurst for Joly and Paris.THEN Cameron,Downe,Roski and a 3rd to Lewy for Gratchev. New Lineup: Eagles Brown Joly Famin Stephens Gratchev Brannon Sill Macausland Petterson Bissonnette Noseworthy
Paris Barberio Savard Jodoin Dimitruk/Boyle Gormley
I like 1st scenario much better-really hope Voinov reports.Truth be told,if the only change in the 2nd half is Voinov reporting I'd be happy with that. It's tough to work out a trade-hard to give up any of these kids. Drummondville is already impressive,if they get Dido(and he doesn't fu** up their chemistry) and another d-they'll be tough.

You have 4 20's in your second scenario...
And youre overpaying for Gratchev....

i've said it before and i'll say it again: cameron or lessard and our 1st to Lewiston for Gratchev and their 1st. unlikely both cameron and lessard will be back next season, plus lewiston's 1st should be top 5 unless they get going on a long winning streak soon.

unlikely both cameron and lessard will be back next season[ Than why would Lewiston make the trade?

unlikely both cameron and lessard will be back next season[ Than why would Lewiston make the trade? to get a cameron or a lessard who can play for them the rest of this season and next. i wish we could dress 4 20's next season, but you know, league rules.....
