Ashton Bernard poursuivra sa carrière avec les Screaming Eagles du Cap-Breton. Bernard a récolté 111 minutes de pénalité en 53 matchs avec les Cataractes de Shawinigan la saison dernière.
as from RDS web site Ashton bernard would be coming to cap breton at the draft they di not say what was the deal but you would be getting one good tough guy

The question is, would we really want him (or how happy would we be/how much more improved would our team be with him)? He's local, yes, and would likely draw a Native crowd, but I remember last year people posting on this site how carelessly aggressive he was at times.
Comments? Thoughts?
bikerboy -- do you have a web site for that information?

This is a kid who was sent home during the playoffs by the 2nd best team in the league.
Hopefully management and the coaches think he can be turned around at home because he's shown no sign of being more then a 4th line Q Goon. I realize that's all that some want, and since he's a local i'm sure most will be looking at it positively.
I just hope it didn't cost much. We don't have enough picks to be wasting good ones on trades like this.

Should be entertaining if nothing else for the Atlantic Division.

entertaining? only if the other teams have someone willing to fight him Exactly. There's not much room for a goon in today's game.

He was a 2nd round pick , he must have some skill . 7 points in 3 years and 2 playoff games played in 3 years.....if there's skill there it hasn't been evident yet in his Q career outside of being a fighter.

He can hit hard... he isn't completely useless in hockey terms.. but I don't see him getting much fighting activity in our conference next year
I doubt you would be paying a big price for him..

What i mean was , he must have shown some skill to be selected in the 2nd round . He wasnt a off the board pick when he was selected . I thinks its just the fact where he thought he had to fight to stick in the league ?

The cost was only a 5th rd pick...not a huge deal.

The cost was only a 5th rd pick...not a huge deal. It's a lot for a guy who was sent home during the playoffs.
