www.capebretonpost.com/index.cfm?sid=257128&sc=146-Willing to move the 1st rounder either for a player or willing to drop down -Would rather keep Holden because of the amount of time Roy could miss -First we hear of the chance of Piscacek returning. Also waiting to hear on Ward. -Among some rumors mentioned are things we've already heard but there is a new rumor in there saying Chris Doyle is on the market.

Not surprised about him wanting to deal the pick or move down. The 14th pick is just as useful as the 10th pick and the 20th pick in this draft. There will be a plethora of teams who pick 11-18 looking to trade down.

I wonder if the Eagles will look to resume talks with Montreal for Adam & Alex Wall ? I hear they are looking for a 1st rounder. I know it would take a heck of a lot more then 14th overall . But it could be a option?

A couple more quotes from the herald today: thechronicleherald.ca/Sports/1125414.htmlLike I said, we’re looking for offensive players. There’s a good chance that all of our defence will be back next year and with Olivier (Roy) in net we should be strong back there. The big question right now is with (defenceman) Mike Ward, if he will sign with Tampa Bay or not. (Defenceman) Jan Piskacek’s agent told me he should know this week if he will be back. He told me he will let us know before the draft. He’s looking for a contract in the American Hockey League but if that doesn’t work he should be back but it doesn’t look there’s anything in Europe for him right now. If that happens, he will want to come back to Cape Breton."

As far as our 20 yo situation, here's from the Herald: Should Ward and Piskacek both inform the Eagles they will be back, Durocher will likely have to make a choice between forwards Michael Stinziani and Nick MacNeil. All those players are 20 years old and teams are only allowed to carry three. Durocher said it’s unlikely he will have all of that sorted out before Saturday so he will probably make that decision later in the summer.
But in the meantime, defenceman Brad Tesink and forwards J.C. Gauthier and Vincent Lavigueur have been made available to all of the teams in the league because they too are overagers
----- Hopefully we'll get some mid picks or gritty players for Gauthier and Lavigueur. Not sure about Tesink but depends who's interested out there in a 20 big D man.
As far as MacNeil or Stinz, hmm....I'm leaning towards Nick as he just seemed more offensive and dominant last year. Unless Stinz's injury (that people thought he had) is fixed up and can be more dominant, I wonder how they'll go....
thoughts?

They're "extra" for a reason and almost every team can produce a JC Gauthier who has the skills to be good but just isn't for whatever reason. And the other 20 spot is an easy call....you take the local 30 goal scorer and try and move Stinziani for a draft pick when everything is straightened away in October when pro camps end and we know if Ward is coming back.

Luke Adam is now a Capers vs Chouinard and a first rounder

Seems like a steep price, but I suppose the 1st rounder doesn't hold as much value as in most years, so you have to throw in a good player too.

Chouinard would be our 2nd highest returning point man.....giving him + 1st rounder for basically same position re points...... yep, a bit strange. Although Adam's likely higher potential than Nic C?

And for all we know there's something else involved that hasn't been mentioned. If it's Adam and a 3rd for Chouinard and a 1st then suddenly the cost isn't so high....someone mentioned Wall but after hearing what Mario said I don't see him bringing in another D

Yes but Adam is very unlikely to play as a 20.. I would think Chouinard could be one of the better 20's in 2 years time
