I am wondering how come Mario couldn't seal the deal with Adam last year if he gave a 1st, MacDonald and Chouinard at the draft?
Why did he trade for Adam this year? He is a great player but he is not going to deliver a title with this team. Do you think he is hoping to yield some solid players for a Ward, MacNeil and Adam at X mas time to build for a run in the future? He has six or seven assets that lots of team would want.
I am just unsure once again what the plan is.

I don't think there is a plan beyond "be competitive"
The Adam move makes no sense by itself.
If by this time next year Adam, Ward, MacNeil, and Brodeur are moved for future then maybe things look a lot brighter but no matter how you look at it for the present we're no team to beat and for the future we're behind most other teams in terms of future potential after today.
Mario's use of his assets this weekend is borderline reckless. All those moves today to get 3 17yr olds was pretty puzzling...not sure how any GM can justify 2 3rd's for 2 4th's and a 6th as a good use of the picks he had.
Personally i'm disapointed we seem to be getting older rather then younger and seem to be stuck in neutral rather then moving ahead or taking a step back and that's a dangerous position to take.
