Better get out and enjoy this one because I just heard that Sydney is expecting 90 km Wind with Some Rain on Sunday . Just a little Rain ..........."150 mm" ! Can't see Moncton Travelling in that unless they come Tommorow . Then again will C200 cancel the game if this Hurricane unfolds like they say it will ? Maybe it will lose some steam and arrive late Sunday Night ! I wouldn't be surprised if they bumped that game to Monday ... if the C200 is available.

They are calling for good weather Monday .....26 Celcius and Sunny . I wonder if all the Roads will be passable after Tommorow Afternoon's possible Record Breaking Weather Event ? Isn't New Brunswick suppose to get a weaker version of this thing ? That's a lot of Rain in a Short Period of Time ! Stay Safe Everyone !

There is a cost to get into the camp intersquad games?? Unlike PEI, we actually have a product on the ice that's worth paying for.

I caught most of the black and white game tonight....but honestly the lack of intensity made it tough to watch.
I'm not expecting guys to be battling like it's a game 7 in mid-April here but last time I checked half of these guys were fighting for a roster spot and very few of them looked like it tonight.
Is there any logical reason why we're playing these games with 4 defencemen on each team? Has Campbell been cut? I don't see the point in a Deveaux or MacDougall playing out of position in an evaluation. And what are we gaining from Ward, Ellis, Brodeur, and Meilleur playing every 2nd shift? I find it all very frustrating.
As far as standouts I thought Fournier was solid and outplayed Saab and Boudreau. Jodoin is looking better as camp goes on and he'd definitely be on my 4th line. And Verroneau while young has some skill and could be a potential #1 down the road. MacIntosh is making a legit case to stick also but I think will likely end up affiliated.

My observations/thoughts:
-Favorite line on Black was Adam/Bernard/Chiasson (I think it was Chiasson). That line moved the puck really well. It was my first time seeing both Adam and Bernard and I was impressed by both.
-Favorite line on White was Hertzberg and others. I can't remember who else was on the line because I was too busy being impressed by him.
-On defence, I liked both Saab and Fournier, but, I thought Fournier had a much more solid game. Also, I question Saab's size. He needs to put on 20 - 30 pounds, at least.
-Holden was the best goalie out there. None of the rookie goaltenders made an impression on me.
-Favorite player on Black was Jodoin. Favorite on White was Hertzberg.
-I agree with JB, I didn't see much point playing vets every second shift or not in their positions.

Agree with JB, it was a pretty pedestrian affair. Time to move on to preseason games - once the hurricane is over of course. Apparently Jim Campbell has left camp, not for eligibilty reasons or anything technical like that - just his own decision. So much for his "guaranteed roster spot" as per last week's Herald article. That opens the door even wider for the likes of Ian Saab, JS Fournier, and Mathieu Boudreau as there are now two open spots on defence as opposed to one. I thought all three had pretty good games yesterday, JS Fournier being the most noticeable he's been so far in camp. I think Hertzberg's looked good so far, especially given the adjustment process that's a factor with all Import players, but honestly I haven't seen the degree of amazingness some posters are talking about. Am I missing something? To me he's been steady, with flashes, and seems to have a pretty balanced skillset..... but hasn't been spectacular - and hasn't proven beyond a reasonable doubt he can play on the top two lines........ although I think chances are he'll be able to. Ellis made a sweet pass to JC Gauthier on his goal. Ward's goal was an absolute bullet, it was a snapshot right under the crossbar that was as hard as anyone else's slapper. But we're not here to talk about the veterans. In goal I thought rookies Alexandre Verroneau and Alex Michaud were both sharp - especially Verroneau, who was excellent at times. Great bounce-back from a tough outing (4 goals against) in Moncton just 24 hours earlier - shows some mental toughness in the 16-year-old kid. Probably not ready for this level this year, esp since we have Roy and Holden, but could be a factor in the future if last night was an indication.

Anyword on the cuts that were going to be made yesterday ? Not sure, haven't seen anything in the way of an official release. All that seems sure is that goalies Pope and Newman were released.

I assume Steven Brazil has left due to that injury sustained Wednesday.
Also, last night, there was no sign of:
D - Wes Herret D - Paul Jackiw F - Nick Parker (or maybe I just didn't notice him on the list) F - Trevor Layton
