I agree that this means Ellis is on the way out. I fail to see how we land anything worth what we need without moving him. As for Piskacek over Stinziani I think it was a no brainer since Piskacek isn't hurting any plans we had with our other Euro's. The Russian kid is never going to come over so releasing him doesn't hurt us and Hertzberg is already here and adapting well. My point was, you could have had Stinziani and Knotek (or some other euro) up front and only needed to add 1 impact forward, not two, which would allow you to keep Ellis. Now though, if you are going to fill the voids up front, Ellis is pretty much gone. Even if you wanted to still upgrade Stinziani up front, you could have done that without sacrificing Ellis. So you could have had (in theory) dumped Stinziani, kept Ellis, Roy and your 1st in 2010 and added a guy like Knotek and maybe a Vandall. Now you can't add a guy like Knotek. You can't add a guy like Vandall. Which means you're looking at the Sauve's, and Legace's (if you want to buy properly)..... and at best you'll be able to keep one of Roy, Ellis and the 1st rounder. I think it's still too soon to say we keep what we have in terms of veterans. I wouldn't at all rule out Piskacek getting traded if it meant freeing up room for a Knotek and a new 20 if they were the best options available to upgrade.

I think both guys should have been traded to build for next year, but since mario choose this path Stinz was the right choice.
Stinziani is a good two way player but not a great finisher (no hands) and even though MacNeil doesn't throw his weight around enough he is a proven scorer. Even if MacNeil was ONLY a powerplay specialist i would still take his pp goals any day over Stinziani's missed breakaways.

This should be a dead issue now. The deal is done. Unfortunately we will never know what other offers for what other players were on the table.
I hope Michael Stinziani has great memories of Cape Breton and of his Cape Breton teammates despite any promises that might have been broken. Good luck Stinz!
I also feel bad because I somehow must have missed a whole lot of games where we had people dominating on the power play!

I wonder what it would cost for David Stich (piskachek & a pick). I think he would be a huge boost for the PP and is solid in his own end.
Does anyone know if there is a chance Esposito would be sent back when he recovers?

Esposito has the same chance of being sent down as Dido when he recovers.

Why do you think the Eagles need to trade for David Stich I think the Eagles need a forward like Yuri from Mooseheads to add their second line scoring...

I think Stich would be an upgrade on Piskachek if the cost was right. Stich has a hard shot and the PP could use him. I also think they need a top line forward maybe 2 but Yuri is neither. He would be a downgrade imo.

I agree with JB, too early to say anything yet. Piscahek can be upgrading on, but i think if ellis goes, its at the draft. He is too importatnt to the d to let go this year. Same with Roy. So much for Yuri anyways, looks like hes off to bat?

what? that's crazy more details would be good.... Apparently the Bus doesn't have traditional storage areas because of the sleepers taking up a lot of the room . So the equipment is hauled behind in a trailer. The lenght of the 2 may be some type of violation in Nova Scotia but not NB or Quebec .There is also some type of Insurance concern . You would think this would have been all checked out and cleared but I guess not !

I believe this configuration may fall into the same class as a semi hauling two trailers. This configuration has many restrictions in Nova Scotia. Trucking rules are more flexible outside of Nova Scotia. It is also possible that the Eagles knew about the restrictions and got the bus anyway because they wouldn't need it to travel to Moncton, Halifax or PEI. I doubt they'd need sleepers for a five hour bus ride.

Someone must have a pic of this Bus that can be posted so we can all see it. As for nova Scotia's highway restrictions...we are way behind the rest of the Country including this farce and cash cow for the Gov. (Safety Stickers)
