The P.E.I. Rocket land at the Metro Centre tonight currently on a two game losing streak to take on the Red Hot Moosehead (probably a bit of an exaggeration) looking for only their second two game winning streak since the 2007-2008 season.
PEI is currently 9th overall with 23 points in 20 games and 5-4-1 in their last ten.
The Moose have 5 points from 21 games, 1-9-0 in their last ten and currently sit 18th over all. (sounds nicer then last)
PEI may have some kids a little under the weather although 21 of 24 practiced yesterday so they should be good to go. Jordan Escott with 18 points in 19 games lead the Rocket while Chris Doyle is second in team scoring with 16 points and a team leading 8 goals.
Thomas Knotek with 20 points in 20 games and 11 goals lead the Moose.
PEI has Halifax's number over the last 2 seasons beating Halifax 7-4 earlier this year on the Island and winning 7 of 8 last year.
Mathiew Corbeil is coming off arguably his best game as a Moose and the boys are on a bit of a high after their first home win of the season.
The scoring last night did not just come from our top line which was good to see. I expect Cam will go back to Corbeil tonight and should he be able to build on his strong performance last night we have a chance.
DND appreciation night so hopefully a good crowd to give us some momentum.
GO MOOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first ten minutes of the game will tell if the Moose are up for their second home win of the season and also their 2nd straight win..I am sure the boys will be up for the task as losing is not in anyone's minds at moment ..I hope they play like last evening but please remember PEI is much better than Val D'Or and we need a big effort out of Matt, and boys this evening ...GO MOOSE GO!!!

It's an official winning streak! Two in a row for the Moose with a 4-1 win over PEI. Too bad that Corbeil lost the shutout in the last minute but he was the 1st star again. Way to go, boys!

Great game... you could feel the tension in the stands wanting Corbeil to hold the shutout. He played great with several flurries of saves, lots of big gloves saves and a couple breakaways as well. The big stop early in the 3rd and having the puck turn up the ice with Knotek blasting it in was huge for the team. Losing the shutout was unfortunate (mistake by Bahm thinking offense and throwing the puck back instead of just taking/holding it deep) but it shouldn't dull a great performance.
Debates on these forums can make these games so much more interesting and the Knotek vs. Champagne was one to watch tonight and not much of a contest. Even in the area Champagne statistically dominates he was outmatched tonight in the faceoff circle. Offensively Knotek had a big game despite only one goal. He was tough to handle all night for PEI.
Good physical game from Clarke. Hannay with another good fight, Bouchard got a few punches in and had the edge early but a couple strong rights from Hannay put Bouchard down and it was a good comeback for the big 17 year old. Dimitruk I though played very well. Desjardins and secondary scoring in general seems to be rolling a bit. Nice to see Andrews get his first, whether it's Desjardins or Lemieux on the right side I like that lines with him and Gelinas. Lemiuex doesn't come across as a guy that will light it up a lot but he's been very noticable in his last couple games and is playing well.
Great game, the fans were really in it and there were some stretches of goaltending from Corbeil that were awesome. Secondary scoring and goaltending... it they keep it up more of those hardworking, close but ultimately disappointing losses could become some points for the Moose.

Who was Dimitruk paired with? I always liked Dimitruk and was really disappointed to see him go to you guys. I hope for him that he is getting the ice time he deserves. I beleive he is a big part of your two game winning streak. +2 in the last game.

The Mooseheads have dressed 7 D the last couple games so the pairings change throughout the game but I believe he was paired quite a bit with Gillard and Abdeltshauser. The thing with Dimitruk is that he wears different numbers every game; I think he has worn #2,#3,#63 and #74
