The injury news on Clarke and Abeltshauser wasn't as bad as I expected. 7-10 days isn't too bad, however I'm sure we'll know more once the get the 2 of them examined and get the results back. John Moore was mentioning how the injury could affect Abeltshauser's Pool B WJC, but then Russell says last night they're both, right now, 7-10 days. Two completely different scenarios there. At least we didn't hear something like 4-6, 6-8 weeks with possible surgery or something. I can live with a week or 2. I didn't even realize Clarke left the Moncton game, so I don't know what he looked like going off, but I know Abeltshauser sure looked to be in a lot of discomfort leaving the ice and the replay of him falling didn't look good. Lets hope the 7-10 day evaluation Russell gave last night holds up and we get these 2 back asap. I think it was minimum 7-10 days and Russell said after last night's game that it would be likely "much longer" or "a lot longer". I don't remember his exact words but he said that and then sort of took the "much longer" back but it sounded pretty clear that he felt they'd be out more then 10 days.

Considering Clarke had crutches and Abeltshauser was in a boot that goes all the way to his knee, i cant see them being back on the ice before 2 weeks, let alone back in the lineup.

Clarke was down in the 2nd Intermission last night talking with the guy I was sitting by and I couldn't help listen in. I believe he said he has a strained MCL and expects to be out 2 weeks.

Anybody else in the league, put in a similar situation would have been injured also. What can`t be said, is that other players would heel from a broken wrist in 2.5 weeks, in what was a 4-6 week injury. Bryce Swan was once referred to as injury prone, but his injuries like Abeltshauser, were unavoidable. Swan hasn`t been injured significantly since (05-06). How does a guy go from being injury prone, to suddenly not injury prone? Is that not a complete contradiction? It`s not like he`s getting injured on plays where other players wouldn`t be getting injured. It`s not like he can`t recover from his injuries, and continues to reaggrevate them. That to me is injury prone.
