Not bad for first game (preseason) Gouchie, Denny, Gauthier, Mariani, MacNeil, MacDonald, Ceccanese and Dame- Malka all played well and tough. Watts however didn't. Don't no if it was nerves or what. But poor play on the line causing two goals and almost a third. Gouchie had 2goals and an assist that I can remember and a good showing in a fight he didn't start .

I personally was very disappointed with MacDonald and Ceccanese as well as Chouinard. I thought Watts had a steady game but yes there were some nerves I also saw breton as nervous. Malkas goal was a nice surprise, the goalie never should have missed it. Mariani played quite well, not overly noticable but that can be a good thing as a dman. Finn didn't dissapoint, looked quite composed. Amadio had some skills. Gouchie, MacNeil, Gautheir played strong but the man of the hour was DENNY!!! not only did he bring his own personal cheering section but he played a solid game hitting everything in sight and winning battles to get puck possession

Actually the goal scorers were Dame-Malka, Chouinard, MacNeil and Gouchie with one. Three players; Dame-Malka (1G,1A), JC Gauthier (2A) and Quesnel (2A) had 2 point nights. Eagles outshot the Fog Devils 42-19 with the biggest margin of 20-4 coming in the 1st period. Both teams had 6 power play opportunities.
Finally the winning goal in the shootout was scored by Kyle Mariani.

Very impressed with Gouchie and particularly Denny up front. MacNeil had a decent game. I thought the returnees MacD, Cecc and Quesnel were so so. Brown was surprisingly ok as I thought he might be in over his head but held his own. Liked D-M and Mariani on D but thought Watts wasn't that strong and made several poor decisions on the offensive blue line. The ice was a joke with players seeming to lose their footing numerous times.

Chad and Lee-Chuck are cousins I do believe. On Gouchie I stand corrected he had 1 goal and 2 assists last night. I no Ceccanese had no goals last night but hit the post several times and showed some good skills carrying the puck in the offensive zone.

Mariani looked very sharp out there. I like his composure and he doesn't seem to panic. I think this guy can QB the PP this year! His skating is very strong and his ability to get back in the play after he pinches is good as well. He is going to be my darkhorse this year and I will go out on a limb to say he will be our highest scoring Dmen if given the chance

He brought the whole package of toughness and scoring in midget and it would be great to see him take it to the next level.

He does look very comfortable out there and has all camp, particularly offensively. His skating is already Q calibre, and I've heard someone suggest his play led to the early exits of Fozzy and Gervais. I didn't catch the game last night but nice to hear the reports. I know it's early, but I called Denny as our 4th line centre June 2, 2007 nestcapev.proboards40.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1180794492&page=3And you got to give the kid credit, he is making the most out of his opportunity. I'd love to see him make it, personally.

I didn't have the chance to type my full thoughts from Exhibition Game #1 but yeah, Mariani is someone that just shouts to be Q calibre this year. On defense, I also really like Dame-Malka, especially considering he is 17. Brodeur's skills have impressed me as well, he had one massive blunder but his skating is good and his shot is very heavy. I thought Ceccassene was a factor every time he was on the ice and Denny definitely looked like someone who wants to make this hockey team. I think I like him as a winger though.
More thoughts after tonight.

Yes Lee Chuck and Chad are from the same family, there Great Grandfathers were Brothers, which would make them cousins.
