Yes it sucks that we aren't in the playoffs for the second straight season (I forget what it's like to watch a post-season game now ) so I thought I would start this thread with Major Midget Atlantics starting this week in Halifax and the Quebec MAAA playoffs being played right now (I think). You can use this thread to bring up new names, get info on prospects (Lala ) and share your opinions. It'll be much easier to just keep all of the pre-draft talk under one thread for now so we can keep our selves busy while all other Atlantic division teams enjoy the playoffs (well atleast the first round). I noticed a couple undrafted players on the Cole Harbour Major Midget team during these playoffs (aside from Burke) that stood out to to me. Michael Clarke (2nd year forward, led Cole Harbour in scoring for playoffs and seems like more of a skill player with some size as he is listed at 6'1 and 200lbs.), John Harvey (2nd year forward, 5'10 185lbs likes to hit and seems like a goal-scorer), Tyler Doyle (2nd year forward, defensive forward 3rd in team scoring, wins faceoffs, blocks shots, plays a lot of PK but is undersized at 5'8 153lbs but puts the effort out) and Brendan Duke (2nd year defense, looks like the best defenceman on Cole Harbour and has good size at 6'0 191lbs). Be interesting to hear what others think about these players (and all other draft-eligible players) chances at being drafted.

Michael Clarke, i liken him to Carl Gelinas, he is knock kneed, kind of an awkward skating style, but very good hands, good in tight area's, has a lethal shot...but theres no way he is 6'01 200, hes more like 5'11 175, also JP Harvey is 5'07 185 not 5'10 185
For those interested, Miramichi made the Atlantics, Trey Lewis will be in action, plus its pretty entertaining hockey to watch. Other teams who made it: St-John's Fog Devils, Charlottetown Islanders, Halifax McDonalds (host) and Cole Harbour McCains.

3 ieme ronde 37 Halifax 38 Baie-Comeau 39 Lewiston 40 Val-d'Or 41 Québec (Acadie-Bathurst) 42 Shawinigan (Chicoutimi) 43 Gatineau 44 Saint-John (Montréal) 45 Shawinigan 46 Baie-Comeau (Rimouski) 47 Drummondville (P.E.I.) 48 Acadie-Bathurst (Cape Breton) 49 Montreal (Rouyn-Noranda) 50 Cape-Breton (Québec) 51 PE.I. (Victoriaville)
Man Cape Breton does not pick until 50th. They gave alot away. Do they have Marcel P working for them now. Not making fun of Cape Breton as they remind me alot of a Mooseheads last time we were in the play-offs. A series that could be over quick, followed by a year or 2 of bad teams. Hope I am wrong for their sake as we know its not fun.

They are getting picks back for Mieuller and Roy...not sure exactly which ones, but its hard to say exactly who will pick where when there are so many futures types deals.

2 Questions LaLa.........
1. R U sure Roy is on his way out ? I hear different .
2. A few years back I remember watching a kid by the name of Ryan Davis play Bantam AAA for Sackville and thought he might be a dominant Q Defenceman some day.............it hasn't happened and he doesn't even play Defence anymore . What will he end up doing ? Is he good enough to play JR A ?

Also isn't a bad skater and has a pretty good shot.

Heck even the last go for it Halifax won 2 rounds before losing in the semi finals. The First round isn't over yet, but things don't look good for the Eagles. I wouldn't compare the Eagles selling to the Moose's. Right now it looks like the Eagles sold the farm to probably only make it as far as Bathurst, Lewiston, Val d'or (rebuilding teams). We complain in Halifax...but ouch that is not looking good for them.

Ryan Davis was converted to wing in his 1st year in Midget. He has shown good progression from his 1st year in AAA to this year, finished with 34 pts in 35 games and 127 PIM...he hits like a truck but plays the game clean, not many dirty type hits. Apparently 2 summers ago when he was 14 he fought Kirk Forrest in a pickup game and he was rag dolling Forrest...strong kid...likely a late rounder, maybe as early as 8th rd just for the simple fact he will fight.

Sounds like a Kevin Asselin type player . If he manhandled Forrest it's funny that a Team didn't take a flyer on him .

I believe that, but could be wrong and more than likely I am, the coin toss is on April 1st.
