Took home the league's Humanitarian of the Year award at tonight's Golden Pucks gala.
Nick MacNeil took advantage of his final season to contribute lots to the community, especially to kids. As per the Q site, he was involved with the Paws-To-Read program with the Cape Breton Regional Library, as well as the Steps For Health program with the local District Health Authority. And you can hear him every day on 103.5 The Eagle, in an ad with Cpl Ron MacDonald of the RCMP speaking out against impaired driving.
Congrats to Nick, instead of ending his Q career hobbling off the ice in Game 4 and going straight to surgery the next morning, he ends his career with an award to be proud of for life!

I felt bad for him, hobbling up the steps in game 4 with his team getting beat on the ice. Tough way to end your junior career.

Excellent. SO glad he won this. I felt terrible about how he ended his junior career.
