Anybody know why Rimouski is short players? They only have 15 skaters tonight and I think their last game they only had 14 skaters.

Big goal by Shaw to go ahead late 4-3. Hopefully that short Oceanic bench comes back to haunt them in these last few minutes... if this team opens at home with a 2-2 record, I don't think anyone will complain....
METCALFE! 5-3!! OOOH BABY!

What I was going to say before the Metcalfe goal... Interesting to hear in the second intermission Willy Palov say that .500 was a "realistic" goal for the Eagles. I take that with a grain of salt because I find he can be a bit optimistic towards both Nova Scotian teams, but certainly it doesn't hurt to have someone who's knowledgable about the Q give the team that kind of billing.

Eagles in 5-4, great effort to bounce back from a loss in Quebec. Looking forward to the home opener.

I know that both teams; Quebec and Rimouski, were missing several key players but as someone else said, you have to be very pleased with the effort of the Eagles in both games. Both results should give this young team some degree of confidence that they can compete when the effort and discipline is there!
However, remember things will get even tougher as players at NHL camps return to their Q teams. While it will certainly help to get Morgan Ellis back some teams will be getting as many as 5 players back. (If not more?)
As an added side note, the penalty kill might need some work!

Great weekend, and sure is nice to see the kids get rewarded for their hard work with a gutsy 5-4 win tonight over what's expected to be one of the league's top teams (I know, they were missing 4 key players, still a nice win). We'll take the win any way we can get it after how close the guys came last night in Quebec despite a great effort.
Important to see Logan Shaw get his first early in the season!
Two great outings from Lacerte this weekend. He's been a solid pickup so far, and has been rewarded with three starts out of four. That said, we need to get Verroneau back in there very soon - let the kid build some confidence!
I think coming back for the home opener with a 2-2 record is really good for a rebuilding team who started the season with four road games - three against projected contenders (SJ, Que, Rim). Very much looking forward to opening night Friday.

.500 is exactly what I expected from this team, so, to start the year 2-2 is fine by me.
Eagles need to work on their discipline. I think Rimouski was 3/4 on the pp, maybe even 4/5. If they stay out of the box, its a 5-1 game.
