Congrats to Jonathan Racine who played his first NHL game last night with the Florida Panthers. He took an interference penalty on his first shift but then settled down and held his own the rest of the way. He was on the ice for a goal against but it was hardly his fault. His d-partner made a very weird decision on the play and it left a man alone in front.

Somebody posted in the Caissy thread that he's headed to Chicago (AHL). Pretty impressive for a player playing Jr.A last season.

Somebody posted in the Caissy thread that he's headed to Chicago (AHL). Pretty impressive for a player playing Jr.A last season. I think he is better suited for CIS hockey ... don't see him capable of staying at the AHL level. I hope he proves me wrong and succeeds.

Doubt it lands him a contract but a great experience regardless.

Lots of teams give ATO's to junior players this time of year as a look-see.

David Alexander just became goalie coach there in the off-season. He's still in that role. They signed Lavigne to a ATO because they lost a goalie to Bishop's injury in the NHL. The Latvian goalie from the Olympics.
