Spoke with a former Rocket player today.
Asked him where he was playing this coming season.
"England", he said, "and really looking forward to it".
Playing in some kind of Pro league over there, not far from London.
Leaving next week.
Hope their games are broadcast on the web (LOL).
All right now, for valuable prizes, tell me....WHO'S THE PLAYER?
Too easy.

Keep up will you ;D Danny Stewart signed for the Basingstoke Bison last week (at least that's when they gave us the press release), it's on the south coast of England in Hampshire, about 50 miles south west of London. The Elite League (Not an English league as such as it also contains the mighty Cardiff Devils, Belfast Giants and Edinburgh Capitals) is about the standard of the ECHL. I regularly go and watch Sheffield Steelers in that league when i get the time off work, who generally are one of the better teams. The team Stewart signed for are a lower-end team, who never contend for trophies. (Like most sports in England even hockey has the powerhouses who always top the standings) There isn't even TV coverage of Elite League games in the UK so it's not goign to be on the web. www.eliteleague.co.uk/www.bstokebison.co.uk/home.php

You guys are good.
Ummmm.....I was kind of joking about the game being on the web, hockey not meaning much to people in that part of the world.
But thanks for all the information.
Danny is a power pitcher and third baseman with the Georgetown Giants in the KCBL; also swings a mean bat and can hit for distance, but strikes out a lot.

More Physical Presence Added With Louis-Philippe Lachance
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL have agreed to terms with rookie defenseman Louis-Philippe Lachance (loo-EE fi-LEEP, la-SHONTZ) for the 2007-08 season, head coach Marty Raymond announced Wednesday. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not announced. Lachance, 21, joins the Condors after spending the past five years in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Last season, with Rimouski Oceanic, he led all team defensemen with nine goals, 23 assists and 32 points, and racked up a team-high 154 penalty minutes in 65 games. "He's a good, young, physical defenseman," Raymond said. "He skates well and fits the mode of what we're trying to do here." The 5-foot-11, 205-pound blue-liner from Notre- Dame-Du-Lac, Quebec, played with the Prince Edward Island Rockets in 2004-05 and 2005-06. In his second season there, Lachance racked up 10 goals, 27 assists and 37 points, second best among Prince Edward defensemen, and led the Rockets with 136 penalty minutes. Prior to that, he spent parts of three seasons (2002-05) with the Quebec Remparts, tallying 14 points (1g, 13a) and 88 penalty minutes in 70 games. "I'm excited for the opportunity to play professionally, especially in California," Lachance said. "I've heard good things about the league and I'm excited to play in front of the big crowds in Bakersfield."

Congrats to Lachance and best wishes. I know he had his critics here but I loved his style and the fact that he gave it everything he had every night. One of my personal favorite depth players.
