Anybody hear yet what the announcement was suppose to be this morning? Can't find it on any sites. I was guessing that the Lightning were coming for camp now that Doug is now in on the organization.

I thought they were trying to get the Islanders to come over for a couple days since their camp is in Moncton?

According to tsn it is, they have a list of start dates and locations and it says NY Islanders in Moncton. www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=11066&hubname=I heard a few weeks ago that they were trying to get them to go to summerside for a day or two and maybe have a intersquad game or something and then in the Summerside Rink last week some people behind me were talking about it and said there should be an announcement soon...so I am assuming that its probably about the Islanders...maybe not though

The reason hockey salaries and ticket prices have gone way out of whack and beyond most people's monetary reach is that gullible fans are willing to pay $75 for a meaningless rookie-laden exhibition game, and now the ultimate ripoff, $20 for what is essentially a practice, and should be free!
No wonder hardly anyone can afford to go to real games any more.
These guys figure "....if the suckers will pay these prices for a practice and/or an exhibition game, then we can charge whatever we want..."....and they do!
If this is what they charge, then there's not a shred of good will amongst NHL players and owners, something that has been obvious for a long, long time.....they just don't give a shit about the average fan.
Hopeless!

Saint John had a intersquad game featuring the Islanders for similiar prices. Guess what happened? Cancelled!
