Just a little Question.. What do you guys think the Rocket need to do to get fans back to the games.. Like as the Rocket Org what need to happen for the fans to get back to the games and start Supporting The Team and drawing about 3 thousand or more instead of 27 hundred etc . I really think the Rocket Organization Should put A suggestion box out at the games where only the Rocket organization can read them where its not people putting stupid crap down where everybody can read. But this way the Rocket Organization can view the good suggestions etc and maybe use some of them to there advantage.. Like for examples Get the replay screens back offer more meaning start dishing out more and bigger prizes etc stuff like that. Just thought it would be good to see everyones point of view on the whole thing. And what other people think need to happen for fans to be back.

1 game preseason play, 1 month regular season and 6 months of playoffs....that should do it to get fans in the seats

This is an idea, during the gold cup saucer parade, they could have some rocket players giving out some child tickets to kids in the crowd, this means that an adult will have to pay for a ticket to bring there kid in, or bring a friend who willl have to buy another ticket. This is a better way of getting more people into the CCC.

For one thing, they should keep updates on the players that are currently away at NHL camps on their website.
They have 4-5 guys aways right now at NHL camps playing in rookie games......update on how they are doing, Etc.

Get them out to the schools, minor hockey clubs (skating with teams at practices, guest coaching and what not) Perhaps work closer with the local media for some better coverage. Trust me the guardian needs the content!! a small player profile each day or every other day during camp let the public know the team (not everyone spends their summer on here!) those signs coming into and leaving town were a good idea. make better use of them. just about every shop in town will put a poster or something on their door if they are asked nicely. don't send some form letter walk in and ask them to help promote. toss a ticket at them. OR..... win hockey games and don't screw over your faithfull. basically 150% more then what they are doing now will be needed.

Based on that system the NHL should be charging 5-10$ per game..

They do go to local schools and also go and get on the nice with the minor hockey associations, a lot of that is not advertised and maybe its the "marketing" of the team....and that can only be adressed in one way the signs were a good idea and hopefully they'll keep them going this year and up to date. also, maybe letting ppl know that if you want season tickets and can't pay by the deadline that the office will work out a payment plan based on your needs, that might help the average Islander that can't commit that kind of cash by the deadline. I know this has happenned this year and well, had I had the choice, i'd do a monthly payment plan, and i probably would have renewed my kids ticket.

i still think we should appreaciate the fact that we have a Q team here and as we all know ppl posting on this board already follow the hockey, the organization has to find unique ways to lure the fans who aren't going back to the rink, maybe having 1/2 price ticket nights a few times per season to see if ppl will come....just a thought

That's not a system, it's a preference and it's one that've heard quite often myself. I know people who see the Abbies and Panthers regularly but might only go to a Rocket game 2 or 3 times a year. They like the Rocket games but would rather pay less to see the Abbies and Panthers even though the MJAHL & AUS are below the QMJHL, they find that it's still not bad hockey. There have been some good suggestions posted on here, but I think where the Rocket is lacking is not listening to their fans and not listening to what they want to see. I know people who have sent suggestions and requests to the Rocket and not even get an acknowledgement back from the team. There has been debate on here in regards to the video screens and there was one thought that since they didn't have them since the start and they only had them for a couple of years, there was no need for them because "it didn't kill anyone". But there is a need for them because that's what the fans are asking for, it's part of the entertainment that the fans are paying for. Imagine if the fans took that same attitude in regards to the Rocket. They decide to support other local teams because the Rocket have only been a here a few years and the fans were able to make due without the Rocket before they arrived. It can work both ways. The Rocket have to get in tune more with the fans and with what fans want to see in regards to the game time experience and with the Rocket in general. As fans we can come up with all the suggestions until we are blue in the face, but as long as the Rocket choose not to listen to them and not do anything with them, things will never change.

I understand that some people like certain levels of hockey better,I was just making a point that the price range is going to depend on the level of hockey you are attending and that I would doubt there would be a big price dropoff anytime soon.

People aren't expecting to pay the same for a Rocket game as they do with an Abbies game, but the Rocket do have one of the higher ticket prices in the entire league. Some team's season tickets sell for $100 less than the Rocket's.

The only way for the Rocket to get more people to the game is to get more hype around the games and when the fans get to the rink make it a night out not just a hockey game better prizes and bring back the screens. They need to start adding things to the night at the rink not taking away.
