Just curious if the lights situation is being looked at? Since they had issues with the lights a couple weeks back during a game, they have not used the shutters since. Not a huge deal at all, but it's a nice touch to have the lights go out when the team scores and the spotlight comes onto the ice............also for the opening player interductions. Perhaps Darcy has some info on this.... Maybe Flipper would have the facts on it

One area thay the CCC and the Rocket have to improve on is the box office, it's terrible.
I went to buy tickets at the box office for my wife and kids for the last home game and when I got there the computer system was down. Had to leave my phone number at the office for them to call me when the system was up, they said it wouldn't take more than 10 minutes. After almost 3/4 of an hour I get the call saying the system was back up so I had to go back down to the CCC again to buy them. Then today my wife tried phoning the box office to get tickets for wednesday's game and the phone just rang and rang, nobody answering, no recording, nothing. She tried a few more times until she finally got through a half-hour after, they had nobody answering the phones the whole time.
The Rocket office was no help in either situation. When the system was down, I went upstairs to see if I could buy them there. They told me I could pay for them but they couldn't guarantee the seats that I wanted and I could wind up with tickets for seats that wasn't near the seat I wanted. Today after my wife couldn't get through to the box office, she phoned the Rocket office and was told that the person was probably on break and that my wife would have to call back to get tickets.
I realize that computer systems do go down, but these instances are not the first time this has happened when myself or my wife has tried to call or have gone to the CCC to buy tickets. I remember a couple of times last year it was a pain in the ass to get them because they were not readily available. People shouldn't have to wait half-hour, 3/4 of an hour to buy tickets. The Rocket wonder why attendance is down.....perhaps one reason is that people are not able to get the damn tickets when they ask for them.

The issue with the lights has been ongoing as i'm sure many of you have noticed. Apparently the issue isn't as cut and dry as most would be lead to believe, and it definitely boggled my mind when I found how complex the resolution would be/is.
There had been one shutter that was giving us grief and shorting out other lights for one reason or another. Each light has its own control board so that each individual shutter can essentially talk to the main control computer and in turn the control panel where the shutters are switched from open to closed.
In order for each shutter to work properly, the light has to be getting power..when the command to close certain shutters was sent to the light, the damaged control board was shorting out its light (making it impossible for the shutter to receive power and close) and in turn other lights as well (we all recall the game where there was a delay when these lights were essentially reset when it tripped their breaker after shorting out).
Control board was replaced a couple of times with no success, and only after scooping through the levels at the manufacturing company, was it found that the entire system would have to be reprogrammed from their main facilities in Indiana (basically you hook the shutter controller computer to the internet, they tap in from the States and reprogram from there, something that is apparently time consuming).
This is where my knowledge ends with it. I'm not sure if its been done, i've been really busy and haven't even been to the rink for more then 5 minutes since the last home game, so i really can't update anyone.
They could have still be used, but with the looming possibility of breakers being tripped, lengthy delays in the game and the sheer fact that it would just look stupid with 3 or 4 lights unshuttered...i decided it was best to leave well enough alone until they were tested, retested, tested again, smacked with a puck and then tested again, etc etc.
So there ya go, there's as best an update as i can give. It's never as simple as hit button, light goes out....if it was that easy, we'd be able to hook up 1000 hundred watt light bulbs and connect it to a regular light switch....but alas, these lights are completely custom made, the ones we have exist only in design in other facilities, we are the only rink that have the same make and model (to fit our lights), so as issues arise with them, its always unique. Glad i was not the one on a scissor lift trying to fix it.
You will just have to wait and see if we have Fade to Black for pre game tomorrow. Oh yes, and a win would be nice. Cheers guys

It's nice to know about the lighting now what about the replay screens know body seems to be addressing that for a long time.

The CCC has been making some positive changes. This is a good thing and I feel should be acknowledged. Washrooms were re-done. Nice paint job! Score board - lights are now working correctly and it is nice to see the ROCKET name in place of Paderno. Service- good going having the girls walking around selling the 50/50 tickets and snacks. Old washrooms were brutal. New ones are much nicer. It's good to have 50/50 being sold in the stands. I think they probably have seen sales increase. One thing that would improve games for me is if people would SIT DOWN during play. It really annoys me that people get up and down during play. I find it very distracting but what can be done? Probably nothing. Oh, well., that's my two cents.
